Track Mounted Roof Rack on 2019 Ford Ranger

Updated 01/27/2020 | Published 01/24/2020

Question:

Can i get the RTS tracks and the corresponding Rhino rack backbone 3 base mount to work on my 2019 Ranger. I dont want to use the pioneer platform and cover the roof completely. Do any of the towers and crossbars work with the backbone? Ive checked Thule and Yakima but cant find any information on the track mounting option. Thanks

There is a Backbone system with RT tracks that fits your 2019 Ford Ranger. The Backbone is part # RRRFRB1 and the track system is part # RRRTS525. To install the tracks you remove the black strips on your Ranger's roof and then drive the rivets into the Ranger's roof.

With that being said the Backbone is specifically designed with the Pioneer platform like you said you don't want, part # RR35TB. I reached out to Rhino Rack and they told me that in no way is the Backbone designed to have crossbars connected directly to it.

Instead there are Rhino Rack roof rack options that fit your Ranger using the tracks in the same fashion as the Backbone system. The roof racks use the same # RRRTS525 tracks, with Base Wedges # RRQMW10 and # RRQMW05, and QuickMount legs # RRRLT600. Then you have your option of crossbars; the Vortex Aero bars or the Heavy-Duty bars.

The Vortex bars are # RRVA137S-2 for silver and # RRVA137B-2 for black. If you prefer the Heavy-Duty bars instead use # RB1375 for silver and # RB1375B-2 for black. With the Heavy-Duty bars you also need a spacer kit, part # RRQMHD05-2.
