Question:
How wide can it be mounted? I am needing a rack on a utility trailer that is 77 inches wide rail to rail to haul a canoe. How long are the cross rails? Can you get longer cross rails?

I suggest the telescoping Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 which extends to 8-1/2 feet wide. This extruded aluminum rack fits trailers that have rain gutters and it has a 400-lb load rating. You can see an installation example in the linked photo. This rack uses uprights that measure 17-inches from the bottom of their brackets to the tops of the adjustable crossbars. I mention this since I do not know how much height you need.
If you need a taller rack check out the Yakima Outdoorsman 300 # Y01137-Y00411 which has 29-inch tall uprights and 78-inch crossbars.
If you like you can send along a few photos of your trailer to help us see what option is best.
The Adarac ladder rack # A70570 has crossbars that are only 66-inches long so it would not be the best choice for installation on a 77-inch wide trailer. Longer crossbars are not offered for this rack.
