Troubleshooting Tekonsha Voyager with Constant Power on Blue Wire

Question:
After 2 years with no issues now I have a green light but can’t get anything to work I have constant 12v coming out of the blue wire even when disconnected at the controller. Is my controller stuffed. Thanks.

Based on the symptoms you described of constant power being found on the blue brake output wire (even when isolated from the 7-Way) there is a good chance that the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 has an internal short and needs to be replaced. There are still a couple things you can check first to be sure.
The first thing I recommend doing (if you haven't already) is simply disconnecting the controller from 12V power and letting it sit for about 15 minutes before connecting it again. This will basically reset the controller and might resolve the issue.
If this doesn't do it then I next recommend testing the red brake input wire on the controller just like you did with the blue wire. If this is also getting constant power then this may point to an issue on the truck. It might have a bad stop light switch that needs to be replaced.
If resetting the controller doesn't work and you aren't getting constant power on the red wire then the controller will need to be replaced. The Voyager does come with a 5 year warranty so I recommend contacting the dealer you purchased it from since it sounds like it's only around 2 years old.

This is normal operation. The brake control sends a low current 12 volt signal checking for the trailer. Once the brake control has a complete circuit to ground on the Blue wire, then the voltage will disappear and the brake control will recognize the trailer connection.
