Can I use MaxxAir Vent Cover for Fan-tastic Fan

Question:

I have a Fan tastic vent fan, can I use the Maxx Air vent cover vs. the Fan tastic cover? Ive read several negative reviews on the Fan tastic smoke cover.

I do not recommend using the MaxxAir Vent cover with the Fan-tastic vent fan because the cover is not tall enough. Most Fan-tastic vent fans are 11-1/2 inches tall when the lid is open. The MaxxAir vent cover is 9-3/8 inches tall. It will technically cover the fan-tastic fan but it does not allow the fan lid to open as much as the Fan-tastic cover would.

The Fan-tastic cover in smoke part # FVU1500GR is 10-1/4 inches tall, so it still does not allow for the Fan-tastic vent lid to fully extend but Fan-tastic vent insured me that the fan still gets the proper air flow. The lid not being fully extended does not affect the motor of the fan either. The Fan-tastic vent cover also installs in the same holes of the Fan-tastic fan so it does not require any additional drilling. There are not any taller vent covers on the market.
