There is a way to carry a ladder but opening the hatch on your 2015 Subaru Forester will be dicey; the only real option to safely carry a ladder and possibly open your hatch is going to be with a cargo tray. Even then it depends on how high the hatch opens; if it is more than a couple inches above your roof there really isn't going to be a way to do so.

If your '15 Forester has raised side rails there is a roof rack from Rhino Rack that I recommend checking out which consists of Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2 and Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs # RRSX100.

This will attach to your Forester's raised side rails and give you about 2 inches above the raised side rails. Adding the Rhino-Rack Universal Pioneer Platform Rack for Crossbars # RR42114BF will give you another 1-1/2 inches.
