Question:

My 2019 toyota highlander has the flush mounted rails that go along the sides of the roof. But I need a roof rack for this car. What do you recommend?

Expert Reply:

The best roof rack for your 2019 Toyota Highlander with flush-mounted rails that run front-to-back is from Yakima because it will give your Highlander a roof rack that is highly effective, quiet, and has a refined look.

This roof rack is made up of Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00425 (Black) or # Y00428 (Silver), SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y00148 and Landing Pad 16 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers # Y00242.

This roof rack will look graceful atop your 2019 Highlander due to the sleek-looking aerodynamic shape of the JetStream crossbars. The aero shape of these bars, along with their built-in WindRidges, is also what ensures that this roof rack minimizes the wind noise and drag that other types of crossbars can create.

The JetStream crossbars are extremely functional and durable due to their anondized aluminum construction, which not only provides them with optimal strength but also ensures they are resistant to corrosion. These crossbars have T-slots which allow you to use channel-mounted accessories; these T-slots have rubber "SmartFill" strips in them which means you are not going to have to cut them to mount accessories, you can simply push the strips in to use the T-slots.

I do recommend adding the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) locks # Y07204 to lock the rack and help protect your investment; I have added links to video reviews of the roof rack and locks for you to take a look at as well.

I already have round bars from a previous Yak set up. Can I use round bars?

Absolutely - you would just need to add the RoundBar Adapters # Y03536 to this setup to use with your existing crossbars.
