How Large of a Battery is Needed to Keep Power Tools Running?

Question:

I have a utility deep cycle battery set-up in my truck. Right now I have a 2500 watt dc to ac power converter hooked up to a 150a fuse that connects to a sqb2000 deep cycle battery that has a 80 amp relay/isolator that connects to my truck battery. Im running 4 gauge wire. My problem is the battery does not last long enough for my power tools and very often I need to leave the truck on while I use my tools. I would like to know how big of a battery I can use? Or what the recommended battery of choice would be? I was looking at the xs d3100 but I also wanted a second opinion considering electric is not my strong field.

In regards to a battery of choice, there is not one style in particular; the 12V with the largest amp hours that fits where you are mounting it is your best option. I took a look at the D3100 you referenced and the specs said it gave 110 amp hours, which is pretty hefty.

The only other thing you can do, if a battery with a lot of amp hours isn't getting the job done, is use a portable generator such as the A-iPower 3,800-Watt Portable Inverter Generators - 3,000 Running Watts - Gas - Manual Start # 289-SUA2000i-2.
