Comparing the Swagman Ladder Bike Rack Part # S80630 and the Surco Ladder Bike Rack Part # SP501BR

Question:
Is one ladder rack better than another. How does this compare to the Swagman? This one seem easy to use the ladder when the bikes are off. Does the swagman rack simply lift off when you are not using it. They look like they have similar capacities.

The main difference between the Surco 2 Bike Carrier part # SP501BR and the Swagman 2 Bike Carrier part # S80630 is how they mount. The Surco carrier clamps around the vertical uprights on the ladder whereas the Swagman carrier uses hooks to attach to the steps. The Surco will be harder to remove when you need to use the ladder but will be a bit more secure. The Swagman carrier also holds three bikes at 70 lbs and the Surco carrier holds two bikes at 75 lbs.
If you will be frequently using the ladder on your RV then I recommend the Swagman but if not, the Surco would be the better option for you. I have attached a review video on each rack if you need further help deciding.
