Installation of Wireless Backup Camera # RVS-091406 on 2018 Forest River Palomino Solaire Camper
Question:
Hello, I have a 2018 Forest River, Palomino Solaire 23foot Travel Trailer 1. Will the camera stay on while I am driving....I am looking for a camera that will help me change lanes making sure cars are back far enough for me to pass. Will this camera help me change lanes more safely? 2. Does camera mount to trailer bumper? Where do I put the transmitter? I looked at the installation instructions, but where do I connect the camera so that it is on all the time I am driving? I probably am not making myself very clear, but I think you get the idea on what Im trying to accomplish....thank you

The Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System # RVS-091406 will allow you to run the camera all the time. You will simply wire the power of the transmitter to your running lights on your trailer instead of your reverse light function. This will allow the camera to stay active anytime the running lights of your trailer are on.
It will give you a 130 degree viewing angle as well as 9 infrared lights for night vision. I recommend installing it higher than your bumper, but you can install it wherever you prefer. The license plate area is the most common location. The transmitter is not waterproof, so it will need to be mounted inside your trailer where it is protected from the elements. This will assist with lane changes, but other options are better for that particular feature.
If you want a system that is better for lane changes, I recommend the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System with Quick Connect Kit # RVS-776614-213.
