It sounds like you have a backup camera like the Hopkins Smart Hitch # HM50002 that can plug in line with a 7-Way trailer connector. This will plug in line with an OEM 7-Way as long as it has the round, US car connector type that accepts the round plug. Since your Ford F-250 has the rectangular connector, the camera system will just need to be hardwired in. There should be specific instructions on how to do this in your manual, since many vehicles do not come equipped with this type of connector.
If you do have the Hopkins Smart Hitch referenced above, you will simply cut/remove the round plug on the camera wiring. You will then locate the reverse light wire and splice the red wire from the system to this wire. The black wire will then go to the ground wire behind the tail light assembly. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to help with determining the wire functions on your vehicle.
I have also attached the installation details on this system that you can check out.
