Question:
Will the safety pin go through a 2 1/2inch hitch with a 2inch adapter?

Expert Reply:
The safety pin on the Yakima RidgeBack 4 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting Item # Y02458 is basically a fail safe. What really holds the bike rack in the shank in the built-in anti-rattle wedge that is in the shank. But for peace of mind the safety pin will stick into the 2-1/2 inch hitch with the adapter far enough to be effective. The pin part of it is 1-1/4 inches long. Since it is a fail safe and designed to be that short it will not go all the way through the receiver.
