Recommendation for a Hand Winch to Lift For Deer Feeder Poles To Raise 320 Pounds
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I asked and you gave me good advice on a winch for my deer feeder poles. You recommended a 900# DL15002. I see it is a 3.2:1 ratio. Will the 320# feeder lift, will this ratio turn as easily as a 4.2:1? This smaller ratio just means it will take more turns but will still be approx the same ease of turning????

I spoke with another member of our content team who uses a similar winch for deer feeder poles. He informed me that the item you selected, Fulton Single Speed Winch - 8 Long Handle - 1,300 lbs, part # FT13000301, will work fine.
Another winch that will work for your application is Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish, Single Speed - 900 lbs, part # DL15002.
When using either winch, for safety, you will want to make sure that nobody is standing under the barrels when they are being hoisted.
For a winch cable, I would recommend Hand Winch Cable with Safety Hook 3/16 Diameter x 25 Long - 1,800 lbs, part # DL24043.
Both winches, part # FT13000301 and part # DL15002 are made in the USA.
I have linked an FAQ on hand winches that you may find as a good reference.
