Do Manual Transmission Trucks Have to Have a Drive Shaft Disconnect to be Flat Towed
Question:
Im towing my truck from clarksville, tn to killeen, TX 9n a dolly from uhaul. My question is: do I need to disconnect the drive shaft? My truck is a manual with rear wheel drive and clearly my rear tires will be on the ground. Almost everyone is telling me I can just put it in nuetral, but Id hate to destroy my transmission.

It really depends on what the owners manual of your truck says. Under the recreational towing section of your owners manual there should be instructions on what needs to be done so that your vehicle can be flat towed.
In most circumstances manual transmission vehicles only need to be put in neutral and they are ready to tow as-is.
I attached an FAQ on flat towing for you to check out as well.
