Will 2 Thule Glide On Kayak Carriers Fit a 2008 Ford Escape with Factory Roof Rack
Question:
Would two Thule glide and sets work on 2008 Ford Escape factory bars? Or should I be looking at J racks. Kayaks are 24inch wide x 15foot long. Ease of loading is a bit of an issue though not critical. Thanks

I suspect that using 2 of the Thule Glide and Set carriers # TH883 would be a very tight fit. The carriers would be closer together than the kayaks are wide if place right next to each other. So if the free space on the crossbars on your 2008 Ford Escape is at least 48 inches then it should work for you.
If less than 48 inches you will want to look at the J-Style carriers such as the JayLow # Y04073.
To make loading easier no matter which carrier you use there is a product that will allow easy loading, even for one person. You would need to have a 2 inch trailer hitch though, such as # 87626. Then you could use the Rhino-Rack T-Load, # RTL002. I have linked a video showing how it works.
