Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2013 Volkswagen Touareg

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, well be test fitting the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box matte black in color with 14 cubic feet of space part number TH614. Now to begin our test fit well simply place the cargo box onto our vehicles crossbars. Loosening up the claws before setting the box onto the vehicles crossbars may allow easier installation. Well now position the box onto the center of the vehicles crossbars. Well then use the key to open up the lid to expose the knobs on the bottom part of the cargo box. Well turn the knobs, tightening the claws, securing the cargo box to our vehicle's crossbars.



Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2013 Volkswagen Touareg

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, well be test fitting the Thule Crossroads Aero Blade Roof Rack System, part numbers THARB53 and TH450R. Now our vehicle is equipped with factory raised side rails, so to begin our test fit, well place the front crossbar onto the vehicles side rails. Well then measure from a fixed point on the side rail on both the passenger and drivers side of the vehicle to make sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle. Once we have established this position, we can remove the end caps of the feet and bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the crossbar and hook them into position. We will then want to make sure that, the overhang of the Aero Blade is equal on both sides of the feet. After doing so, we can use the included tensioning tool to tighten down the feet to secure the crossbar to the vehicles raised side rails.



Thule Force Large Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2013 Volkswagen Touareg

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Touareg we'll be test fitting the Thule Force L Rooftop Cargo Box Aeroskin black in color with 13 cubic feet of space, part number th624. To begin our test fit we'll simply place the cargo box on to the vehicles crossbars. It may be easier to loosen up the claws of the cargo box before placing it on to the vehicle. We'll then use the key to open one side of the cargo box to expose the two closest knobs. We'll turn the knobs to tighten down the claws to secure one side of the box to the vehicles crossbars. We'll then close the lid and open up the other side of the cargo box repeating the same steps.



Thule T2 Platform Style Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

All right. Today on our 2011 Volkswagen Touareg, we're going to do a test of the part number TH916XTR from Thule, the Thule T2 Platform-Style Bike Rack. One quick note about is it's designed for 2" receiver hitches only. We'll start up by installing the bike rack into the hitch and then install the anti-rattable followed by the lock on the other side. The bike rack does come for wrench to tighten on the bolt, however a 3/4" wrench will work just as well. We can now give you key measurements by giving you an idea of clearance.



Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Alright, today on a 2011 Volkswagen Touareg, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System using the Crossroads Foot Packs and AeroBlade bars. We're going to take the front crossbar and place it onto the vehicle. You want to check your owner's manual, check the weight limitation and the proper spacing for the measurement for your crossbars. We'll start by squaring them up with a non-point on the roof rack and then we'll move from there to the leading edge of the foot pack, then we'll go ahead and tighten it down. The foot pack comes with a tool to tighten them down and when you're down, it will store inside the foot pack. Put the front bar tightened down, we'll get and install the rear bar.



Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Today on this 2011 Volkswagen Touareg, were going to install part number C56201KIT from Curt we will also be using part number 55151. We will use that for our power wire to go up to our power supply up in the front of the vehicle. Now were starting off the install with the vehicle partially disassembled already, we just got done installing a hitch and its a good time to do this wiring while the vehicle is partly disassembled. This is our module right here and we will do most our connection points on the drivers side. Go ahead and remove the bumper cover, to make it easier to see whats going on. We will attach our module here and we will extend these 2 wires to go up behind a tail light, we will make our connections behind the tail light and to the wire harness. The yellow wire here is going to be ran up to the drivers side tail light.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Today on this 2011 Volkswagen Touareg TI, we are going to install part number 13116 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like when it is on the vehicle. Next we will go ahead and give you some measurements to help you out when choosing some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 17 inches and from the center of your hitch pin hole to the outside edge of your bumper is going to be 1-1/2 inches. Now we will go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing we need to do is remove the bumper cover and there is a variety of fasteners to do that with. We will start off with the fasteners on the bottom, there will be 1,2,3,4 fasteners. Like that.



Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Alright today on this 2011 Volkswagen Touareg, were going to do a test fit of a Yakima roof rack system. Well be using 48 inch round bars and rail grab towers. Now we have them already preassembled according to instructions but we left them loose for our final adjustments. So well go ahead and put our first role on the factory roof rack. Now position of these rails will be determined by the accessories that you put on top of the roof rack and also by any limitations there are on the factory roof rack system. So lets check the owners manual to make sure.



Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Alright today on this 2011 Vokswagon Touareg were going to do a test fit of Thule Roof Rack System. We are going to be using part number th450 Crossroads Roof Rack Adapter and their square load bars. Now we have our load bars already pre-assembled according to the instructions, and we left them loose until we finally install them on the factory roof racks. We will take our first one and go ahead and set it on the roof rack towards the front. Now to keep our bar square on the vehicle we will measure from a known point on the roof rack, and then well measure out to the leading edge on the foot pack. Okay now that we know the roof rack is square, go ahead and make sure it is correct left and right.



Kuat NV 4 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Alright today on this 2011 Volkswagon Touareg, were going to do a test fit of the Kuat Bicycle Rack part number n101-103 from Kuat. One quick note about this bicycle rack, it is designed for 2 receiver hitches only. We will go ahead and start off by installing the bicycle rack into the hitch. We will install the locking pin and tighten down everything with the anti-rattle device. Alright now we will give you a couple of measurements to give you an idea between the bicycle rack and the vehicle, and the ground. At its closest point we are looking at 7 clearance between the bicycle rack and the car.



Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Volkswagen Touareg

Today we are going to install part number 13220 from Curt. We are going to install this hitch on a 2007 Volkswagen Touareg. The first step involved is actually removing the tail lights. There are two screws on each side of the tail light. We will undo those and then take off the tail lights. We have got the light unbolted, and then we will go ahead and just disconnect it from the vehicle for now and put it in a safe spot. And then go ahead and repeat it for the other side. All right, the next thing we need to do is go ahead and take off the bumper cover. That is going to be from here on down. We will start behind the tail light and then work our way behind the fender well and go on from there. And then go ahead and do the same thing on the other tail light.
