Everything was great with this product, except it got bent at some point. And it was a real mother to get it straight enough to fit the bolts on the driver side. Super strong product, probably shipping damage..:(

  • Can Thule Trunk-Mount Bike Rack be Used on 2006 Honda CR-V
Thank you for all of the info and the picture! Normally when the hatch on a vehicle doesn't allow the hooks to properly secure you would just use an anchor type system like the Hollywood Racks part # HR44FR. These would sit inside the rear hatch area and would essentially pull against the door to hold the rack in place. I checked with all of our manufacturers and none of them list a fit for a 2006 Honda CR-V. So even if you were able to use anchors I'm not sure if a Thule bike rack, like...

  • Can Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack Fit Hitch of 2004 Honda CR-V
As long as you have a 2 inch hitch installed on your 2004 Honda CR-V like the Curt # 13535 yes the Yakima OnRamp part # Y36FR would fit it and work great. This would easily clear the rear spare of the vehicle.

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2006 Honda CR-V and Yakima Flipside 4 Bike Rack
Judging by our install pictures it looks like the Draw-Tite part # 75690 looks to hang the lowest of all of the hitches we carry that are confirmed to fit your 2006 Honda CR-V. It's not a huge difference, but if you check out the picture I attached you will see it sits a tiny bit lower.

  • Replacement Hitch Installation Hardware Kit for Curt Hitch 13535
We do offer a complete hitch installation hardware kit confirmed to have all the correct original-specification parts you need to safely install a trailer hitch like the Curt # 13535. Do please note this hitch does NOT fit your 1999 RAV4; it is a fit for model years 2002 through 2006 only. The correct Curt hitch for your car is part # C13524 To order a hardware kit for any hitch we carry simply enter part # RHK into our search box and press enter. Then just put the hitch brand and part...

  • What is the Difference Between the Curt & Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches For a 2006 Honda CR-V
There isn't any real difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13535 and the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75690. The only real difference is that the Curt # 13535 sits a hair more recessed measuring 8 1/2" from the hitch pin hole to the edge of spare tire, compared to the 8 3/4" the Draw-Tite # 75690 has. Other than that, both of these hitches have the same 350 lb tongue weight capacity, as well as the same 3,500 GTW capacity.

  • Will the Thule Apex Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Clear the Spare Tire on a 2004 Honda CR-V
It is very likely that you will be able to use the Thule Apex, # TH9025XT, with Curt trailer hitch # 13535 and clear the spare tire on your 2004 Honda CR-V. However, ultimately you will want to install the trailer hitch first, then measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the spare tire. If that distance is less than 12 inches then the rack will clear the spare. I have included a link to an FAQ article that will help with how to measure...

  • Can a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch be Converted to a 2 Inch Hitch
1-1/4 inch hitches cannot be converted into 2 inch hitches. If your 1-1/4 inch does not have the weight capacity to pull the trailer, then you will need to get a 2 inch hitch on your CR-V. We have one Class III hitch, 2 inch receiver that will fit your 2006 Honda CR-V. It is Curt part # 13535. It has a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 pounds and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. Keep in mind, when towing, you cannot exceed the capacities of the lowest rated component...

  • How to Identify Which 2003 Honda CR-V Hitch Hardware Kit I Need
There are 3 hitches made for the 2003 Honda CRV. They each are designed differently and they each have different hardware kits. There are three Class III hitches, the Draw-Tite # 75690, the Curt # 13535, and the etrailer Hitch # e69AR. You can order the replacement hardware using part # RHK and entering the hitch part number. I've also linked the installation instructions for all 3 hitches and an installation video for two of them for your convenience. Keep in mind that we don't recommend...

  • Does Curt Hitch for 2003 Honda CR-V Require Stabilizer Strap to Carry E-Bike Rack
At one point Curt used to require a stabilizer strap with some of their hitches when carrying a bike rack but they recently walked that back and it's no longer a requirement at all. So if you installed the Curt hitch # 13535 on your 2003 Honda CR-V you would not need to use a strap. Then for an e-bike carrier the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider part # HLY84FR is a really great option and value. It's very easy to use and has the higher weight capacity needed for the e-bikes like what you have.

  • Maximum Towing Capacity of a 2005 Honda CR-V
A trailer hitch receiver such as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13535 which is a confirmed fit for your 2005 Honda CR-V is almost always going to be rated higher than the vehicle's towing capacity. You will need to abide by the lower of the two ratings as this will be your limiting factor. I have attached an install video of this hitch on a similar 2004 Honda CR-V for you. To determine the maximum trailer weight you can tow with your CR-V, you will need to find both the Gross...

  • Will the Thule Revolver Bike Rack Work with the Curt Class III Hitch On a 2006 Honda CR-V
The only way to determine for sure if the Thule Revolver Swinging 4 Bike Rack, item # TH964, will work is to measure the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole to the farthest back part of your spare tire. The Revolver has a clearance of 7-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest back part of the bike rack. The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # 13535, sits just about even with the farthest back part of the rear fascia when installed on the CR-V....

  • Will a Trailer Hitch from a 2003 Honda CR-V Fit a 2003 Honda Pilot
We do have trailer hitches for the 2003 Honda Pilot but Curt hitch # 13535 only fits the 2002 to 2006 Honda CR-V. The Pilot and CR-V do require different hitches. The comparable Curt hitch for the 2003 Honda Pilot is # 13328. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. • EBike Rack Recommendation For A 2006 Honda CR-V
To handle the weight of an ebike you'll have to have a class III hitch installed rated for atleast 350lbs. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13535. The Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S94FR will fold up out of the way and will allow you to open the rear hatch. The distance from center of hitch pin hole to the closest part of rack when folded down is 15-1/2" so you'll have plenty of room for your spare tire.

  • Is it Possible to Install Hitch on Honda CR-V Without Raising Vehicle Off Ground
You should have enough clearance under a CR-V, however you may not know for certain until you are actually under the vehicle. If you find you do not have enough clearance, you can always jack up the rear end and use jack stands -- as long as you take all of the safety precautions associated with using them. The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch that you reference is a confirmed fit for your 2002 Honda CR-V. For a wiring harness for your application I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with...

  • Exhaust Rattling After Hitch Install on a 2002 Honda CR-V
Yes, you are going to need to bend the exhaust hangers on your 2002 Honda CR-V which will then prevent the muffler and or heat shield from coming into contact with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13535. This problem is fairly common on vehicles with tight clearance between the hitch and exhaust. If you take a large crow bar and place it between the exhaust hanger and hitch then you should be able to bend the hanger just slightly out of the way which will then prevent the rattling...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness Recommendations for 2004 Honda CR-V EX
The Class III Curt hitch # 13535 is an excellent choice for your 2004 Honda CR-V EX as it will give you more weight capacity, safety margin and flexibility for use with a range of accessory items like cargo carriers and bike racks...not to mention a substantial towing capacity. You will want to refer to your CR-V owner's manual to verify its capacity since it may differ from the hitch; the lowest-rated item becomes the overall system's limit. Versions of the CR-V have a 1500-lb towing...

  • Fitment of Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13535, on 2005 Honda CRV and Gross Towing Weight
The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13535, will fit your 2005 Honda CRV. The hitch has a Gross Towing Weight of 3,500 lbs., but you will be limited to what the Gross Towing Weight of your vehicle is, which is listed in your owners manual. The reason they make a Class III receiver is because it has a more common 2 inch receiver opening than the 1-1/4 inch Class I receiver and gives you a bigger selection of accessories to use on the CRV and still be within the 350 lb. Tongue Weight...

  • Will Curt Ball Mount D-28 Work w/2 Inch Ball 63845 on 2005 Honda CR-V w/Curt Class III Trailer Hitch
The first thing you are going to want to look at is the gross trailer weight capacity of your 2005 Honda CR-V. It has been our experience that the vehicle is only rated for 1,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 100 to 150 pounds tongue weight. Check the owners manual to confirm the capacities of the vehicle. The ball mount # D-28 and 2 inch ball # 63845 will work just fine together and with the Curt trailer hitch # 13535 you have on your CR-V. The anti-rattle device and lock you already...

I would instead suggest the Draw-Tite hitch # 75690 over the Curt hitch because if you decide to transport anything like a bike rack or cargo carrier in the future you will need to use a stabilization strap # 18050 per Curt's warranty and with the Draw-Tite hitch you won't. The hitch has a gross towing weight capacity of 3,500 lbs, but the 1,500-lb towing capacity of your vehicle will be the maximum you will be able to tow. The Draw-Tite hitch from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside of the spare tire on a 2005 Honda CR-V is 8-3/4". The Draw-Tite is just a bit less recessed than the Curt so it is the better option since it will provide more clearance. It sounds like you may have the RockyMounts BackStage...
