The Thule Rapid Traverse foot pack is the ultimate vehicle-specific base rack, providing the strongest hold, the most accurate fit and the easiest installation of any rack on the market.
The Traverse towers - or feet - hold the bars to the vehicle more securely than other towers by implementing Thule's patented MaxClamp technology. The towers are tightened to the vehicle using the integrated AcuTight tensioning tool. These devices indicate when the feet are safely and properly attached to the vehicle, and they store conveniently inside the towers when not in use.
The towers mount to your vehicle using vehicle-specific clips (sold separately) that snap into place on the towers in seconds with Thule's EasyClick bracket-attachment system.
The Traverse offers a handy OneTouch bar lock lever, allowing you to set the rack position once during the initial installation. The bar lock then holds your load bars in place so that you never have to position them again - even when removing and reinstalling the rack.

Alright today on this 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, were going to do a test fit of a Thule roof rack system. Were using a Thule foot pack part number 480R and Thule aeroblades part number THARB53. Now were going to start off with our bars, array of symbols according to manufacturers instructions. So we will go ahead and start off with the front crossbar, well put it on the roof and then well get a measurement to put it in the proper position. Alright to put our crossbar on the right spot, were going to go ahead and measure from the edge of windshield to leading edge of the foot pack. Also refer to your manufacturers instructions; in this case its going to be 9 inches.
Alright weve got it in the right spot, not lets go ahead and take a second to make sure its correct from left to right, then well move onto the second bar. Well go ahead and do the same thing as the first, however well measure off the first crossbar to the center of our second crossbar and that measurement will be 26 and inches. Alright with our roof rack in a proper spot, well go ahead and tighten it down, make sure to fit kit is properly secured to your roof line and well need a supply tool to tighten it down. When were done the tool will store inside the foot pack. When we tighten it down, well make sure we do it evenly on both sides and with that our roof rack is fully installed.
Now Ill give you one more measurement to give you an ides of height thats added to the car. Well measure from the leading edge of the foot pack to the top of the highest rail, looks like its going to be about 5 inches. With that, that will finish it for our test fit of the Thule roof rack system with the Thule aeroblade crossbars on our 2012 Chevrolet Malibu.

Shipping was fast.Product installation directions are horrible.The rapid aero bars need a piece of rubber to fill the slot on the bottom of bars.Wind gets caught in the slot and it sounds like someone is playing a flute when you are going down the road.Etrailer is a great company as far as shipping and feedback and i would highly recomend them.17919

great quality. works and looks incredible. very little noise if any noticeable. instructions need to have some actual directions. not just pictures. measurements specific to my truck (2013 F-250) were (in my opinion) not correct in instructions for best fit and finish.68859

Thule makes a great product. The quick release system is strong and secure when attacked to the bars or blades. The fit kit is also strong and secure in the towers. Design of these towers look great on my Saturn Aura 2007. I can not complain at all about these and they are highly recommended. 28740

The instructions could be better... but once I figured out how far apart the feet are supposed to be, everything else was a snap! This is much better than the old Yakima rack I used to have. Once I discretely mark the spot where each foot mounts, I should be able to install or remove these in about two minutes.10416
