Video Transcript for Bulldog Heavy Duty 6 Inch Caster Installation

Today on our trailer we're going to be replacing the Jack Flatfoot with a replacement heavy-duty, six-inch caster for two-inch-diameter jacks, part number BDCP555. To remove the flatfoot we'll just remove the old manufacturer's hardware that secures it in place. The new wheel comes with a new clip and pre-drilled holes in the wheel housing to line up with the jack. Install the pin and clip to secure it. Then once in place, we can simply let our jack back down and we're ready to go. That does it for the install of the Bulldog replacement heavy-duty, six-inch caster for two-inch-diameter jacks, capacity of 1,500 pounds, part number BDCP555. .

Great product, stronger design than I even anticipated, very fast shipping!

The wheel was put in my little hot hands on Thursday, April 15. I was delighted at how quickly it arrived and it fits my trailer perfectly.

Great ServiceRecently bought a caster for my trailer. A pretty generic item. What is outstanding is the professionalism of "E trailer" and it's staff.
Great crew who seem to want to please every customer regardless of how much money they spend.
Highly recommend them. Wish every retailer I deal with were as good.

Product is great and what I wanted, but the bad side is that the pin hole does not match up due to a welding tact that hold the screw inside the 2" caster. Also the pin diameter is bigger than what I have before. As for the footplate, it fits fine. No problem installing and removing it. Overall I am happy with the purchase. Thank you!

HI EVERY BODY, I HAD ONE OF THESE BUT MINE GOT DAMAGED, SO I HAD TO ORDER A NEW ONE FROM ETRAILER.COM, THE PRICE WAS MORE THAN OTHER SITES BUT SINCE I NEEDED THIS REAL BAD I BOUGHT IT, I GOT THE PART DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WOULD FIT, BUT IT DID! NOW I AM A HAPPY CAMPER AGAIN, THANKS ETRAILER

by:

Excellent. Heavy duty and solid. I can now move by camper side to side in my driveway without kicking the wheel. Also goes easily over small cracks.
I only wish there was a way to lock it to the jack to prevent theft.

Still working great and still wish there was a way to lock it to prevent theft. Thinking about putting a bolt in as the retaining pin and drilling a hole at the end to fit a small padlock. Would be great if you guys made a locking retainer pin with the lock on the end like receiver hitch locking pins.

My utility trailer’s jack came with a “foot” which caused me to buy a trailer dolly to maneuver it within the tight confines of my garage. To say it was a pain is a gross understatement. I read all the positive reviews and comments regarding the Heavy Duty 6” caster and decided to give it a try. I cut the existing foot off and installed the new caster. Installation was easy and only took me about 20 minutes. What A Difference! Prior to installing the HD caster it would take me 10-15 minutes of struggling (along with a few choice words) to position the trailer. Now, even loaded with the ATV, it only takes me 2-3 minutes to accomplish the task. This is the best investment/addition I’ve made to my trailer. I highly recommend this product as it has made my life a whole lot easier. In addition, I’ve dealt with etrailer in the past and have been impressed with their quality of service and prompt delivery times. Thank you and I will continue to be a loyal customer

This jack stand wheel fits perfectly with the bulldog jack. Works great too!

by:

Attached is a picture of how I am using the unit.

I have a two wheel trailer type sprayer manufactured by Rears Corp in Oregon. They supply a Bulldog 158151 with the sprayer to support the tongue when the sprayer is disconnected from the tractor three point hitch

To reconnect to the tractor it is easier to have a unit with a wheel which is why I ordered the BD1541150301 and BDCP555. It did take me over two months to get delivery, but the unit works fine.

You may want to contact Rears Corp and see if they would like to switch to the unit with the wheel. The only down side is that the 158151 supports 2000 lbs and the BDCP555 oly 1500 lbs.

I just tried it on my 6x12 enclosed trailer yesterday. The trailer was loaded with two mid-sized motorcycles. I was amazed that I could now actually steer the trailer as I pushed it across the garage floor. ( It was a constant struggle to steer the trailer with the wheel I had previously been using.) The body of this unit is constructed of much heavier steel than the one it replaced. The wheel material is nice and dense and rolls easily.
I was a bit surprised that the swiveling part of the caster does not use ball bearings. Instead it rides on a plastic disc. It is yet to be determined how long this setup lasts.

So glad I purchased this wheel. For normal storage, I attach the foot plate to the trailer jack. Whenever I decide to move the trailer, I just support the trailer tongue with a floor jack and swap on the heavy duty wheel. Takes only seconds to swap out and makes moving the trailer, even loaded, a breeze.

I have a RAM 2000 series trailer jack on my car carrier that I bought this caster for. The caster fit like it was made for my jack. I am very happy with how this all worked out.

by:

Excellent caster. Using on my 2008 Trailmanor RV trailer. Bought this caster to replace an "under $20" caster I purchased a few months ago, which never fit the 2" jack post snugly and actually bent while trying to maneuver my trailer. I read other reviews on the Bulldog Heavy Duty caster that said it actually swiveled without having to be "kicked". The Bulldog fit perfectly, does swivel much better than the previous caster, and allowed me to position my trailer to its tight-squeeze location in my garage. Don't hesitate to pay a bit extra for this sturdy caster. I had considered buying a trailer valet ($300 plus) attachment, but no longer is necessary thanks to this caster.

Caster is still holding up. Turns well and allows me to maneuver my 3000 lb trailer to its exact placement in the garage.

by:

This is a great addition to my new trailer. It replaces the stock flat pad and allows me to relocate the trailer while not connected. Love the latch pin that allows easy removal when towed with a lower hitch.

im not fully satisfied with this product. I find the swivel needs much attention and readjusted as well as the unit often fills with water and can be rusty what I remove the wheel. It does the job but needs attention

by:

A little beefier than the one we had on our Aliner trailer whose tongue weight ia approx 350 lbs. I haven't really dragged the trailer around driveway yet, but it seems to change direction easier with the little interaction I did try (one tire was bootlocked and it's a hassle to remove a Brahma lock).

For a wheel that has 350 lbs of tongue weight, it works great. Now we can just hand push the trailer inout of the tight but paved space on the side of our garage instead of using the truck.

by:

Tough heavy-duty wheel is an improvement over the flat foot plate when a situation requires that the trailer be moved short distances which do not require a trailer dolly.

Working flawlessly. Excellent quality.

This is an OEM replacement part for my Featherlite trailer. Avoid buying the cheaper caster commonly seen for sale on eBay as it is much more lightly built.

Still working fine - will probably outlast the rest of the trailer
