  • Converting Standard 7K Grease Hubs to Oil Bath Hubs
Initially what you need to do is clean out all of the grease in your hub, on/in the bearings, and on the spindle. Once that is done you simply swap out the grease seal for the oil seal included in the Kodiak XL ProLube Kit # XLPROLUBE2440KIT (which has a 2.25" ID and 3.376" OD) and reinstall everything. You do need to make sure that the ID of the oil seal matches up with your current system so that it keeps your oil from leaking. If you are needing to replace the bearings and seals as...

The most common bearings and seals for a 7,000 pound axle are # 25580 inner bearing, # 14125A outer bearing, # 25520 inner race and # 14276 outer race. The grease seal can vary, and will usually either be the # GS-2250DL, which has a 2.250 inch inner diameter and 3.376 outer diameter, or # GS2125DL with a 2.125 inch inner diameter and 3.376 inch outer diameter. We have what you need! Thanks for the photos. Even though the serial number is torn from the axle tag, we still identified the brakes you need with the Unique ID Number 124394998016 from your 10k Dexter axle tag. I confirmed with my tech at Dexter that you need the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" # 23-450 (left side) and the # 23-451 (right side). These are direct replacements of brakes constructed for your 10k Dexter axles on your Gatormade trailer.

I recommend the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-458-459 for your 2011 Forest River Sierra 300RL. These will only require you to adjust the brakes to ensure they are set correctly when you install them. After that they will self adjust themselves as the brake material wears away. • Determining Replacement Hub And Bearings For Dexter P-12 SLR Trailer Axle
I can definitely help you find the correct replacement hub and bearings for your Dexter P-12 SLR axle, but since part of the serial number was unreadable you will need to take a few simple steps to identify which bearings your axle uses. The easiest way to accomplish this is to remove one hub and look for the numbers stamped on the inner and outer bearing like shown in the attached picture of the # L44649. If your bearings are too worn to be able to read the numbers, you will need digital...

  • What are the Correct Bearings and Races for Dexter 8-201 Electric Drum Brakes?
The Dexter hub you referenced, 8-201, is a 5,200 lb hub, though a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern does not come on 5,200 lb hubs. The correct bearings for the 5,200 lb hub are # 25580 and # LM67048, while the proper races are # 25520 and # LM67010. I have attached a link to a help article on wheel bearings that you may find useful. If you can provide the diameter of the brake assemblies and/or the axle capacity, I would be happy to make a specific recommendation for you.
