Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the HappiJac custom tie-downs for your truck bed campers. This kit is going to allow to you to get your Ram equipped to haul a slide-in camper. It's going to provide two attachment points in the front and two attachment points in the back so that you can secure all four corners of your camper to your Ram. You're not going to have to worry about any sort of side to side, front to back, or up and down movement.

It's going to keep your camper nice and secure.This is a custom fit for most of your 2002 through 2009 Dodge Ram 1500s, although I do recommend checking the fit guide on the product page to ensure that it's going to work with your model.It does feature direct-to-frame brackets, so instead of mounting to the bed of your truck, it's going to connect to the frame instead, which is going to help distribute the weight and keep the setup from being too top-heavy, again to help decrease any sort of movement from the camper. Your center guide locks here are going to prevent the camper from shifting side to side. It's going to keep it nice and centered. Your rear anchors again are going to install into your truck's bumper to give you that third and fourth attachment points so that your camper is not moving in the bed of your truck.This kit is going to include two of our front anchor plates, two of our backing plates, our two guide plates, as well as the two L-brackets. We are going to also have the two centering guide locks as well as the two rear anchors that go into the bumper, all the hardware that we're going to need to get it installed, and of course the instructions that will help us to do it ourselves.Now our installation is going to require holes to be drilled in the bed of the truck, but the installation guide walks you through that so you're not going to have to drill any unnecessary holes or anything.

It's very clear on where to drill. There are a couple of things that are not included in this kit that you are going to need. One of those is the stabilizing bar. This stabilizing bar is going to create an I-beam truss structure to help reduce the stress on your truck's frame so that you're not going to damage your truck. It is not included in this kit.

It can be found separately here at etrailer.com or you can find a kit that includes all of this and the stabilizing bar here at etrailer.com as well.Another thing that is not included in this kit that I would recommend picking up is going to be your turnbuckles, which will hold your camper down to your tie-downs on your truck. I have an example of one here. It's a simple mechanism. The hook is going to mount onto your camper. The other hook is going to mount onto your tie-downs on your truck.
