Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the Benton LittleShift single bike rack and we're gonna see how it works with our 2024 Ford Escape. Now, if you've been on the hunt for a single hitch bike carrier that can accommodate an assortment of different sizes and styles, as well as have a great weight capacity to accommodate your e-bike, the Benton LittleShift could be the best choice for you. First and foremost, from a versatility standpoint, this is one of the few bike racks that can be either frame or wheel mounted. So we have it wheel mounted at the moment, but if we had a bike with fenders or something like that where we couldn't use this, we could simply depress this button, remove the hook from the post, move it back to the frame, and attach it right on there. But of course, if we've got a bike that say has a really nice custom paint job and we don't wanna have contact between the carrier and the bike frame, we could simply keep it up here at the wheel. more

This is Curt with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the Benton Shifts&Grins bike rack for two bikes, and we're gonna see how it works with our 2024 Ford Escape. The Benton Shifts&Grins is an excellent choice for anybody that's looking for a very versatile bike carrier. If you have several different styles of bikes, different weights, things like that, this could end up being the perfect bike rack for you. First and foremost, it's got a 55-pound weight capacity per tray, so it will handle some of the e-bikes that are out there on the market. And it has the added bonus of being able to be wheel mounted or frame mounted. You could simply remove the hook from the post here and move it back to the frame if you have a bike with fenders that can't attach to the wheel, or of course if you've got a bike with a really nice custom paint job that you don't want making contact, you could always bring it back to the wheel, which is actually where most people like to have it anyway. more

Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Vero hitch bike rack for two bikes and we're gonna see how it works with our 2024 Ford Escape. Now the Thule Vero is an excellent bike rack in that it can handle a variety of different styles of bikes. It can accommodate wheels from 20 to 29 inches, tires up to five inches wide, and it has a weight capacity of 80 pounds per tray, meaning that it can accommodate even those heavier e-bikes. It's a frame mount, so it'll be great if you have fenders on your bike, and it's gonna be very secure because each of our masts that attaches to the frame has a lock to keep it locked in place, and that's gonna be keyed alike to the anti-rattle hitch lock that is included as well. So let's go ahead and take a look at how it fits with the Escape. And for reference, the bike we're using today is a pretty large bike. more

Now the cross track is a wheel-mounted single bike platform rack that'll go into the two by two inch hitch receiver on your Ford Escape. The way it's going to work is it's going to have these arms here that are gonna ratchet in. They're gonna kind of sandwich the bike in place and it's gonna allow it to just not move or anything while it's up here. It's actually a really, really secure way to carry it. And because it's only contacting on the tire, it's really unobtrusive as far as the bike itself goes. more

The CrossTrack from Hollywood Racks is a wheel-mounted bike rack. It's gonna use these braces that are gonna ratchet up against each other and pin the bike from front wheel to back and keeping it nice and secure up here on the rack. Now it is important to know that wheel-mounted like this, if you've got something with fenders, you're probably gonna want to check out something that is frame-mounted. We have plenty of bike racks like that available here at etrailer, but with this, it's a really simple operation. We got a 66-pound weight capacity per tray, so it is gonna accommodate a lot of those e-bikes. more

It's a frame mounted bike rack, meaning that it's going to attach to the frame whether it be here on the cross section, the seat stem, right here, really anywhere along this area that you need to keep it upright and secure. Good floor liners are really the best way to protect your factory carpet. The day is gonna come down the line someday where you're going to want to trade in your current vehicle, and you wanna keep the interior in as good of condition as you possibly can. Well, the factory carpet in a vehicle is one of the things that is most commonly kind of wrecked and destroyed when it comes to having it for five or six years. So having a custom liner like this is gonna be a huge plus. And being a custom liner, it's gonna actually provide a lot more coverage than the factory mats that you get, and I'll show that after I install it, but while I got it out, I just wanna go over a few things. more

Hello neighbors, this is Curt with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex roof rack and we're gonna see how it fits and how it installs on our 2025 Ford Escape. Now, a roof rack is an excellent way to transport that extra cargo that you either don't want driving in the vehicle with you or it simply won't fit in there at all. And in the case of the Escape, you do have some cargo space here, but if you're going on a trip and you've got the whole car loaded up with passengers, it's not gonna leave a whole lot of room for luggage and other things that you want to take with you on your trip. So the roof rack is gonna be an excellent way to transport things and cargo boxes, platform racks, roof baskets, there are bike racks and kayak carriers that can go on a roof rack, all sorts of things that can go up here and help you get what you need to your destination. The Vortex roof rack is going to be an aero style of crossbar, meaning it's got more of an ovular shape. This is gonna be a lot more aerodynamic than your more common round or square bars, therefore they're gonna create a lot less noise as you're going down the road. more

Roof rack accessories include things like roof box, cargo boxes, platform racks, baskets, bike racks, kayak carriers, ski and snowboard carriers, all kinds of different things that you can get up on the roof of your Escape in order to enjoy that next adventure. The JetStream crossbar that we have on our roof rack today is an aero style crossbar, meaning it's got kind of an ovular shape. These are a lot more aerodynamic than your round or square bars, the more traditional shape bars, and they're gonna be a lot quieter on the road for you. more

Hi, I am Daniel with etrailer, and today we're going to take a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Draw-Tite inch-and-a-quarter trailer hitch on our 2016 Ford Escape. Ford Escapes are great, smaller, compact SUVs, and there's not a whole lot of space in there, so if you are going on trips, adding a hitch it's going to allow you to have an accessory back here, like a cargo carrier, so you can put your luggage on that instead of inside. You can also use a bike rack for this as well. Now, this is an inch-and-a-quarter, so it's not going to be your standard hitch size, but if you already have an inch-and-a-quarter shank on your accessory, like some bike racks have, this is going to be a great option. This hitch is suitable for some light-duty towing as well. And as you can see, it's got a loop-style safety chain loops on the bottom, and that can easily accept a clevis-style or S-hook safety chain. more

There's a ton of space above your vehicle and adding some roof racks, it's going to allow you to throw some accessories up here like a cargo box, bike rack, or kayak carrier. Now, you can use T-slot accessories in these. All you have to do is, on the end cap, you can slide this back and slide your T-slot in that way. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Demco Air Force One, supplemental fixed braking system on a 2025 Ford Escape. And this is definitely the braking system I'd recommend if you have air brakes on your coach and you flat tow quite often and you don't wanna have to deal with a portable system of setting it up each time and storing it. Once installed, this really is just a plug-and-play operation. It runs off of the air on the coach and it has its own separate tank. And the base plate's gonna be the structural mounting point that really sets the tone for the rest of your installation when it comes to a flat tow because certain brands are gonna have different mounting points and less trimming involved. And really a lot of times having to fabricate spots to get everything mounted up can prove to be a little bit more tricky than you might expect. That's not the case with this one. This one does a really good job of relocating the adaptive cruise control, giving you a mount for your breakaway switch, as well as your airline if you are doing an air brake system like we did today.
