Hands-On with the MORryde 3/8 Inch Goosetech Safety Chain- Video
So, our neighbor recently swapped away from a REESE Sidewinder fifth-wheel kingpin over to a MORryde GooseTech Goose Box. So, he didn't already have chains to go with that, and safety chains are gonna be a legal requirement and just a safety requirement in general when it comes to gooseneck towing. So that way, we have some more attachment points in the event that we disconnect from our goose ball. Now, there's a lot of varieties when it comes to these safety chains, but MORryde has their own special branded ones, which are going to be 3/8 in diameter and gonna give you about a 26,000 pound capacity. So, more than what we need in order to tow our trailer here, 'cause this is right around, like, 15. But installation of these is gonna be super simple and like I said, this does not come with your Goose Box so you will need to purchase these separately. more

Hi, I'm Matt with Etrailer. If you're looking to upgrade your old safety chains for either your fifth wheel or your gooseneck trailer, then BulletProof Hitches' 38-inch Safety Chains are gonna be a great option for you. And if you are upgrading your chains, when we're looking at our old ones here, you'll notice it's not a very long chain and they're kind of rusty, that's kind of given if they are some older chains, they probably need to be swapped out at that point. Now, when you are pulling your trailer behind you, especially anything like a horse trailer like we have right now, typically that's gonna have an offset ball. And when you are trying to make that connection here, sometimes it's gonna be a really tight fit. It's really gonna strain. more

In-Depth Review of the Draw-Tite Safety Chain with Clevis Hook- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Draw-Tite towing safety chain. Now this towing safety chain helps ensure safe towing, it provides the backup connection between your trailer and your tow vehicle. Now this one is a 36 inch long safety chain; it comes with one chain so you will need another one. Your trailer needs to have two chains connecting from the trailer to the tow vehicle, under the coupler and it is recommended very strongly that when you run them, you cross the chains under the coupler so that way, if the coupler disengages from the ball mount on the tow vehicle, the chains actually create like a basket, which would then catch the coupler and keep the nose of it from dragging on the ground.
