Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Nissan Xterra- Video

Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the curt trailer hitch receiver, here on a 2015 Nissan Xterra. So this is what our trailer hitch looks like installed on the vehicle here. Now it does sit out from the bumper a little bit, but it has a nice black powder coated finish, which really gives it a great overall appearance, and it's also gonna help protect the hitch from rust and corrosion over time. So adding a trailer hitch to your Xterra, it's gonna be an excellent option because it's gonna make your vehicle that much more versatile. Now we can obviously use a trailer hitch for towing, but let's say we wanted to hit the trails or just simply free up some space inside the vehicle for us and the family on those long road trips, you could easily attach either a hitch mounted bike rack or a hitch mounted cargo carrier. So in regards to towing, our trailer hitch is gonna provide us with a 4,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

WeatherTech Front Floor Liners Review - 2014 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today on our 2014 Nissan Xterra we'll be installing the WeatherTech front auto floor mats. These are available in black as part number WT441801. They are also available in grey as part number WT461801, and finally they are available in tan as part number WT451801. We already have our driver's floor mat installed here. As you can see it contours wonderfully around our threshold here, our A pillar post, around our firewall, and around our transmission tunnel here, and then back over our floor pan where our seat bolts down to. It clips in nicely to two hooks that the factory floor mat is secured by. The reason we have such a great fit is because WeatherTech takes the time to make precise laser measurements of every car that they make floor mats for so everything will fit perfectly into your vehicle. We have these nice channels here that'll help collect any water, mud, or snow that maybe on our feet when we enter our vehicle. more

Husky Liners Rear Floor Liner Review - 2011 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today on our 2011 Nissan Xterra we're going to be taking a look at the Huskey Liners' classic floor liners for the rear, in black, part number: HL66281. It's also available in gray, part number: HL66282. What I like most about this rear floor mat is the way that it contours nicely and has that raised edge to help provide extra protection and makes sure whatever gets on this floor mat is going to stay on this floor mat, so it's nice and easy to clean. Here in our second row you can see with the factory floor mat installed there is still a lot of carpet around the edges that's exposed, both over here by the threshold of the door where you can see dirt and debris that has escaped our floor mat, then also as we come along the front of the seat and the back of the rear seats hop over the hump here. Now let's take our factory floor mat out and install our new Husky Liner. As you can see we've got this nice raised edge that contours nicely from along the threshold of the door to up, underneath, and around the seat track of the front seat. As we come up over the center hump here you can see we've definitely got better coverage to where there is very little carpet that's visible, and then continuing over to the passenger's side we're going to have that same nice contouring and raised lip all the way around. Here in the center of the floor mat we've got this diamond-plate style pattern which is going to help to provide traction for your feet, but it's also going to help in case any dirt, debris or spills, that get on to here, they'll be down in between this and your feet will be on top of the diamond-plate pattern, and that's going to keep it off of your shoes. On the underside we've got these stay-put nips and these help to grip into the carpet to make sure that this isn't going to shift and move when getting in or out of the vehicle. In order to clean it you can simply wipe it down or take it out and hose it off. That's going to complete our look at the Husky Liners' classic floor liners for the rear, in black, part number: HL66281, on our 2011 Nissan Xterra. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today on our 2011 Nissan Xterra we're going to be taking a look at the Teknosha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller for one to three axles, part number TK90160 and we'll be using this in conjunction with the Tekonsha plugin wiring adapter for brake controllers for Nissans, part number 3050-P. Here's what this brake controller looks like once it's installed in the vehicle. This brake controller is going to do a good job of giving us power to our brakes on our trailer that's behind us. This one, we don't currently have it connected to a trailer so if we hit the manual override, you'll see it shows NC for no connection, but when connected it'll show you the power output that it's putting through to a trailer. Here on the side we've got this turn dial to adjust your gain level for the amount of power being sent back to the brakes on your trailer. Here on the top we've got this blue button and that's going to let you go through to your three boost levels so that you can adjust the amount of boost that's going to go back to the trailer brakes. This brake controller is nice and easy to use and it's going to do a great job of providing proportional braking power to the brakes on your trailer and it does that by the inertia sensor that it has inside. You're able to mount it from zero degrees all the way up to 90 degrees in the vertical plane. What I like most about this brake controller is how easy it is to use and operate because it's as simple as setting it and if you want to set a boost level, you can do that. more

Today on our 2011 Nissan Xterra we're going to be taking a look at the and installing the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with seven-way trailer connector, part number 118266. Here's what this wiring kit is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, we've got our seven-way round connector here at the back. It's a nice spring-loaded lid to help make sure that weather and the elements don't get inside there when it's not in use. This is going to do a great job of providing power to all your circuits on your trailer, like your lighting circuits and your brake circuit. This kit plugs directly into the factory plugs that are underneath the vehicle for the tow package. You will also have to install the relays that will go inside the passenger compartment at the passenger's kick panel. more

Husky Liners Rear Floor Liner Review - 2006 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today, on our 2006 Nissan Xterra, we're going to be taking a look at the Husky Liners Custom Floor Liners for the rear in black, part number HL66281. Also available in grey, part number HL66282. Here in the second row, you can see that the existing floor mat, it does have a lot of stuff collected on it, but if you look off to the sides of the floor mat, you can see how much stuff has collected on the carpet that's underneath this floor mat. Let's remove this factory floor mat and put in our Husky Liner. As you can see, as we get it down into place, this is going to give us much better coverage and a much better fit than that factory floor mat did. You can see that it's got this nice raised edge here, starting over at the threshold, and working up to where it goes underneath the back of the front seat there and around the seat tracks, and it maintains that lip all the way along. It contours nicely all the way over here to the center, and comes up over the center hump, as this floor liner is 1 piece. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Nissan Xterra - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2006 Nissan Xterra, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the DrawTite Max-Frame Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75291. The thing that I like most about this hitch, is how easily accessible everything is and easy to get to. Although it does come out past the rear of the bumper just a little bit, it makes sure that you shouldn't have any problems whenever you're using accessories with this. It features a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, a nice reinforcement collar that's welded on here. Then over here, we've got the five eighths hitch pin hole which is going to used to secure all of our accessories. Then here we've got the smaller half inch hole. That's going to be used for our J-pin stabilization system. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today, on our 2006 Nissan Xterra, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56225. Here's what this wiring's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's right down here, tied to our safety chain connection point, so whenever we need it, we've got nice, easy access to it. Whenever we're not using it, we can use that dust cover to tie it to that safety chain loop. This wiring harness is nice and easy to install, not terribly difficult, as it's direct plug-and-play into the factory harness. Overall, this harness will do a really good job of making sure that you have power to your trailer when you need it, but also it's easily accessible and easy to use. Today on our 2006 Nissan Xterra, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pull flat trailer connector, part number: 118525. Here's what this wiring is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, we've got nice, easy access to it here. If we need to use it, we can just take that dust cover off of there and unhook it from the safety chain connection point, and we've got easy access for our trailer. Whenever we're done using it, we can use that nice, handy dust cover to clip it back there so we're ready to use it next time we need it. This wiring comes in a kit that's going to give us direct plug and play access to the vehicle's existing trailer wiring harness. What's nice about that is you're not going to have to do any cutting or splicing into the vehicle's wiring system, but rather you're just going to be plugging in the connections that are already there, which means that you're not going to risk doing any harm to the vehicle's electrical system. Overall, this kit is nice and easy to install, and it's going to do a really good job of making sure that you can get that power to your trailers so that you don't have to worry about the lights behind you. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Nissan Xterra - Curt- Video

Today on our 2006 Nissan Xterra we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 13514. The cross tube is very visible, but that means that everything that we'll be working with here is going to be really easy to access and easy to use because it's open and there's nothing confined around it. It's got the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening with the nice solid reinforcement collar around it. Got the rolled steel safety chain connections points down here, so just about whatever type of safety chain that you may have you should be able to get it connect it here because you've got plenty of room to work. Here on the top it's got this nice reinforced steel plate that's welded on. With this one, with it coming out just a little bit past the bumper, if absolutely needed to get up to, say a roof rack or anything that you may have, you could even use that as a step if absolutely necessary. It's got the standard 5/8 of an inch hitch pin hole that's going to be used to secure all of your accessories. more

It can also be adjusted out to suit our towing needs. By loosening up the knob down here, we can adjust the platform so it won't obstruct the view of our factory mirror. more

K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2003 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today on our 2003 Nissan Xterra we'll be doing a test fit on the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. It offers a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass or park while towing a trailer. The mirror can be adjusted at any angle, and by simply removing the Phillips head screw at the back we can rotate it to the vertical position. It's not going to interfere with the operation of our factory mirror and we can still rotate it in. The mirror itself measures 7 and 3/4s of an inch long and 5 and 1/8th of an inch wide. I'm here at the passenger side of my Xterra and to begin our test fit we'll need to first turn our mirror over, and we need to make sure that the tabs here are pulled all the way out. more

The rod attaching to the mirror can be adjusted out for your towing needs. By loosening up the thumb screw back here, we can adjust the mirror anywhere along the bar. It's not going to interfere with the operation of our factory mirror, and we can still rotate it in. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2001 Nissan Xterra- Video

Today on our 2001 Nissan Xterra, we've got out the Curt Premium folding and tilting 4 bike rack. Now this has been designed for use with 2 inch hitches, part number on it is C18064. Something really unique about the rack is going to be the taper that's in the cradle arms. We've got a wider set here on the front and then you can see a narrow set here on the back for smaller bikes or maybe high ridge style bikes. Gives us some options as far as mounting goes. Also the 2 reflectors there on the end they're going to keep it nice and visible. Now in each position regardless if it's in the narrow or the wider position we're going to have 3 straps holding our bikes to the cradles. more
