Today on our 2021 Grand Design Solitude Fifth Wheel, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Dexter DX Series brake actuator for campers that have electric over hydraulic disc brakes. But before we get into that, let's take a minute, we'll check this out and make sure this is going to work for you. What this is going to help you accomplish or where it's gonna come into play is for those of you that are wanting to convert your camper's braking system to a disc brake kit, hydraulic disc brake kit, because the majority of the trailers out there are gonna come out of the factory with your standard electric drum brakes, right Which work, but they're subpar, especially on big campers like this, right So by upgrading to electric over hydraulic disc brakes, it makes a huge difference. It'll reduce your topping distance usually by about half, if not more sometimes, depending on the brake kit that you get. So with this, how it's gonna work is it's going to receive input from your truck's brake controller. more

Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Grand Design Solitude camper, we're gonna be checking out and showing you how to install the Dexter Disc Brake Kit. So with these big trailers and campers, you know, braking performance is usually pretty poor. A lot of times they'll come right from the factory with just kinda your classic, you know, electric drum brakes, which, you know, they definitely help, they work, but there's a lot of room for improvement and that's where something like this would come into play. So we've converted this to a disc brake setup, which is electric over hydraulic. So very similar braking performance to almost, you know, your passenger trucks and things like that. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Lippert Ground Control TT powered leveling jacks on a 2022 Grand Design Imagine. Now this is gonna be a huge benefit for any of you at campsites that are tired of having to level out your trailer. It cuts into not only setting up the campsite to where your camper's perfectly level, but also having to raise all those jacks up. This can all be done at a touch of a button, and that's where this comes into play. And once you get to your campsite, you unhook your vehicle, you can hit auto level, and it's gonna start doing all the adjustments by itself. So it does take about three minutes or so. more

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the MORryde X-Factor Crossmember. This is designed to support your factory hangers on your trailer. You'll have hangers if you have a tandem-axle trailer. You'll have six hangers, three on each side, and they're attaching your leaf springs to the trailer. So you have one on the back holding the leaf spring, one in the middle holding the equalizer, and one at the front holding the other end of your leaf spring. more

Kodiak Disc Brakes Installation - 2020 Grand Design Momentum G-Class 5W Toy Hauler- Video
Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2020 Grand Design Momentum, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Kodiak Disc Brakes for 7,000-pound axles. From the factory, your Momentum is going to come with your traditional-style drum brakes. And when you get into a camper of this size or a trailer of this size, the drum brakes really are not. They're not gonna work very well because when drum brakes get very hot, they don't like to work properly, that's where our disc brakes come in. They're gonna stay cooler, they're gonna provide better braking, and ultimately give you more comfort when you're traveling down the road. more

Lippert Solera Slider Slide-Topper Installation - 2022 Grand Design Reflection Fifth Wheel- Video
Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Grand Design Reflection 5th Wheel, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Solera Slide Out Awning. But before we get into that, let's take a minute, check this out and make sure it's gonna be the right setup for you. The whole purpose of these slide out awnings is really simple. More or less, whenever you have your slide outs opened up, they're vulnerable to getting moisture and debris and stuff inside, right, 'cause it'll sit on top without an awning here, it'll sit on top of the slide out. You know, water can leak in, but what tends to happen is when you open and close it, it'll bring that debris in with it, eventually kind of tear your seals up, so on and so forth. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Grand Design Momentum, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring System. This system is going to be designed to replace your leaf springs and have additional shock absorbers that you'll add on in order to give you a more comfortable ride when you're going down the road. From the factory, a lot of these rigs, especially the bigger ones, the leaf springs that come on them are not enough to give you a comfortable ride. A lot of times, the manufacturers of these RVs will just take the same leaf springs and put 'em on their entire fleet just because they're good enough for the axles that they're attached to, but they're not good enough for the weight of the camper itself. This system is gonna replace your entire suspension system. more

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Deutsche Hydrapro brake actuator. The series that we're working with today is going to be the G-1600 Alpha. If you need a higher flow rating or if you have a triple-axle trailer, that's a good reason to need more flow, that is gonna be the G-1600 X Alpha. The unit itself is going to have a very small construction comparative to a lot of the other accessories on an RV. You can mount it up pretty well anywhere you've got an open footprint of about 6 by 12 inches. more

MORryde X-Factor Crossmember Installation - 2020 Grand Design Momentum 5W Toy Hauler- Video
Hey guys. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the MORryde X-Factor Crossmember on our 2020 Grand Design Momentum. This system is designed to attach on the inside of both of your hangers on the back of your trailer where your leaf spring attaches, and basically what it's designed to do is it will stiffen that hanger so that when you're driving down the road, you don't have any flex in that hanger. We've actually seen the hangers come in and they're bent, or some people have even had 'em fail. So by stiffening that, you're making your ride a lot safer. These cross braces are designed to span from 61 inches all the way up to 79 1/2 inches. more

This kit is gonna be designed to fit 12-inch brake assemblies. If you need new brakes too, chances are you do if you're looking for new drums, you're probably gonna need new brakes, we've got those available on our website. You just wanna make sure that they fit the correct axle capacity that you have on your trailer. The brake drum is designed to work with brakes that are 5,200 or 6,000 pound axles. more

Hydrastar Brake Kit Installation - 2017 Grand Design Momentum 5W Toy Hauler- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Hydrastar disc brake kit for triple axles. Now one of the biggest issues, which you may already know if you're watching this video, is that big RV's like this one weighing in at 16,500 pounds dry, that's before any fuel in the fuel tank, any water in the tanks, anything inside of it, this one is a toy hauler, the normal electric brakes, the drum brakes, are not really adequate for stopping this size of a vehicle. This vehicle itself has a GVWR of 21,000 pounds, so that's a lot of weight. The disc brakes are going to perform way better than your standard drum brakes. A drum brakes, the biggest problem with them is that they get really hot, and they do not like to cool down because they're all contained inside the drum. more

Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater Installation - 2019 Grand Design Momentum 5W Toy Hauler- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2019 Grand Design Momentum fifth wheel Toy Hauler and we're gonna be taking a look at, I'mma show you how to install the Furrion tankless water heater. Now one of the biggest frustrations when you're camping is when you have a traditional tank water heater typically they're gonna be between 10 and 15 gallons. Well, when you have a shower or multiple appliances like our fifth wheel here has, that hot water can empty very, very fast and it takes a very long time for that water heater to heat back up to heat up all that water 'cause after all, if you use 15 gallons you're gonna have to reheat 15 gallons. A lot of people will take showers in their campers or do dishes in their campers just like they do at home. Well, this water heater in here is gonna be a fraction of the size of the one at your house. more

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Gen-Y Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel Kingpin. Now the biggest difference between this kingpin and the factory one that might be on your 5th wheel is that these are going to have rubber torsion springs built into the head so that when you're going over those bumps or you start to get some chucking when you're going down the road, this is designed to help absorb most of that. You're still gonna have a little bit of it. What I've had experience with I've got one of these on my trailer. I actually have the gooseneck version but what I have seen happen is that the chucking will start and this will eliminate it almost immediately. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Furrion High Efficiency RV Air Conditioning Unit on a 2020 Grand Design Momentum G Class 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. Now this system is going to be a single zone and gonna be rated at 13.5 KBTU. Now this is what our unit looks like installed on top of our roof and this does replace a powered fan that was originally there, which does make it a little bit easier as far as having all the electrical there to be able to get our new system in. Now I think the tricky is part of the entire installation is probably getting this up on top of your RV. Here we're able to use a forklift so once you get this up here that's gonna be I think half the battle. Another great part of replacing our roof vent fan means that the opening's already there so there's no cutting required when it comes to putting our new unit in place. more

Hi, John with etrailer. If you have a travel trailer then you know that even the slightest bit of movement is gonna radiate all the way through your camper. Now to alleviate this problem, Lippert's got a great product out. This is the Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer Kit that we installed on our 2021 Grand Design Transcend Xplor. Now this kit is gonna attach to the existing stabilizer jacks on your camper. Whether or not it's scissor jacks or electric stabilizer jacks, you're gonna get a total of four stabilizers for up in the front. more

This is the Solid Step locking RV cargo box, and we installed it on our 2021 Grand Design Transcend Xplor. Now this cargo box is a great way to take advantage of a dead space that you may possibly get on your camper if you've installed the solid steps like this. These steps that come with the campers that fold away are pretty basic, they're pretty terrible too. This is a great addition to your camper, these are ground contact, that's great. more

Hi there, Grand Design owners. Today, on your 2022 Grand Design, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your standard equalizer and suspension bolts with wet bolts from Lippert. To assist us with this, we're gonna be using bronze bushings from Dexter, and we're also gonna be upgrading our equalizer to a Lippert's Road Armor. This upgraded wet bolt kit from Lippert is designed specifically to work with the Road Armor equalizer. It has slightly longer shackles than what you would typically find in this weight range, and that is to compensate for the difference in the Road Armor dimensions. Today on your 2022 Grand Design Imagine trailer, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your factory equalizers with Road Armor equalizers from Lippert. To assist us with this installation, we're also gonna be using Lippert's wet bolt kit as well as some bronze bushings from Dexter. And this is what our Road Armor looks like when it's installed. We can see it is a replacement equalizer that's going to get rid of your old one, and our new Road Armor here has rubber dampeners inside to absorb a lot of the impacts. Also, your road armor will come equipped with bronze bushings so that way you can have a wet bolt set up to extend the life of your components. more

Lippert Slide-Out Gear Pack Installation - 2019 Grand Design Reflection Fifth Wheel- Video
Kevin Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer. And today I'm gonna be showing you how to replace your worn out gear pack for your slide out on your 2019 Grand Design Reflection Fifth Wheel Trailer. If you're having issues with your slide out not really wanting to come all the way out or come back in. Maybe one side's kind of starting to come out more than the other, might be a good time to get down there and look at your gear packs. Your gear pack has a crown gear in the center of it which has teeth in it and that's what actually kind of helps move your slide out in and out. Those gears get chewed up too much then you're not gonna be able to have your slide out actually move forward or back. more

Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer. And today I'll be showing you how to replace the touch pad on your Lippert Ground Control leveling system here on your 2019 Grand Design Reflection fifth wheel trailer. Have you been experiencing some issues with your ground control touch pad Maybe your buttons aren't working, which is pretty much the most common cause here on our touch pad issues is just after a while the sensors on the inside of our computer chip here kinda just wear out over time and then just doesn't really want to activate. So, the replacement touch pad is gonna be these only solution that you can really go with, it's just gonna completely replace your whole pad since there is not a way to just replace the buttons themselves. Here's what your replacement Lippert touch pad is going to look like once it's fully installed just like with your original one it is going to allow you to manually adjust your jacks, or auto level all of your jacks. And you can also set it to know exactly what height you need to be at when you're trying to hook up your truck. more

Today in your 2021 Grand Design Reflection, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Comfort Ride Slipper Springs System with Shock Absorbers. And this is what our slipper spring assembly looks like when it's installed. This is gonna be the ultimate suspension system for your trailer here. The way that it operates is gonna be completely different than a typical trailer with an equalizer setup. With an equalizer setup, whenever your front axle there, if you're moving along, you hit a pothole or a bump, once that hits whatever those forces are, they're gonna transfer into this axle. more

Hey guys, Kevin here at etrailer. And today I'm going to be showing you how to install the JR Products Double Rocker Switch here on our 2022 Grand Design Imagine travel trailer. So our neighbor originally only had a single Rocker Switch in here that was just controlling the lights that he has in the ceiling. He wanted to be able to put a new powered vent into this room here, where he used to have just a non-powered vent. So we had to run a extra switch, that way he could keep the fan on without the lights having to be on. If we had only run it to the switch that we had before with just the lights on it, he would have to have the lights on to also power his vent. more

And today we're gonna be showing you how to install the MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Plus here on our 2022 Grand Design Imagine Travel trailer. here on our 2022 Grand Design Imagine Travel trailer. So originally our neighbor today had purchased two of the MaxxAir Deluxe fans two of the MaxxAir Deluxe fans that have the giant rain shield that kind of scoops back and covers up the vent itself. But once we got up on the roof and saw that there was some other stuff in the way we just realized that it just wasn't gonna fit. So to keep that rain shield and still have the ability to have our fan running, anytime it's raining or if we're going on the highway, we had to switch over to the Mini Plus which will simply have that same scoop but just not nearly as big. more

Hey guys, Kevin here at etrailer and today I will be showing you how to install the Ultra-fab mini solar powered plumbing vents here on our 2022 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer. So as you can see, our vent is just a little bit bigger than our original one, but the main thing here is that our new one is going to have an actual fan in it which is gonna help lift up that air inside of your tanks and vent them out up above your trailer so that you're not smelling that and so that it's not building up all that pressure inside of your tanks. And since this is solar powered and it does not have an actual battery in it, this is only gonna run when the sun's actually beating down on that panel, providing power for that fan. So this will not actually work during nighttime hours, or if you're a real cloudy day and your panel's not really getting any sunlight. As far as installation goes, it is super simple. Like I said, there's no wires to hook up, nothing like that 'cause it's all solar powered. more

MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Installation - 2022 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer- Video
Hey, guys, Kevin here at etrailer, and today, I'm gonna be showing you how to install the MAXXAIR MaxxFan Deluxe here on our 2022 Grain Design Imagine Travel Trailer. So our neighbor today wanted to upgrade his vents. He did have 12-volt-powered vents in his trailer, but he wanted to switch to something a little bit more sophisticated that looked a little bit nicer with our MAXXAIR Fan Deluxe. It has a super slick-looking rain shield that allows you to run your vent at any time, whether it's inclement weather, maybe it's raining, or if you're driving down the highway, you can still have your vent open and exhausting that stale air out of your camper, whereas other vents can't do that, and also just the compatibility with the remote and the ability to change the fan speed and the temperature settings just overall, make this a whole lot more enjoyable while you're camping. Up in our roof vent lid, there is a bug shield on the back where you actually have the air vent out of our ceiling vent here, but there's also the added protection of the bug shield right here, which can easily be replaced or pulled down for cleaning just by simply twisting these brackets around to pull the bug shield down. As you can see, right next to that, we have our controls, your on/off, your reversible, switching your fan from manual to auto, and then opening and closing your lid as well as a manual turn knob in the event that you lose power or if you're wanting to have the vent open without the fan running, whenever you're pulling your trailer down the highway. more

So if you're like me and you hate having to get up on a ladder to clean off your slide out after you're done with your camping trip, the Solera slide out awnings are gonna be the thing for you. These are gonna help deflect all the debris the leaves, any acorns, anything else that might fall off of a tree when you're out camping in the wilderness or even at a campsite by deflecting it right off the top which is also gonna help keep the inside of your camper clean. This is because your wiper seals do a pretty good job. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Furion Vision S Wireless Camera System here on a 2021 Grand Design Transcend Xplor. So the Furion backup camera system is gonna be an awesome addition here to your trailer because it's gonna allow you to remain safe when you're driving out on the road or backing up. So this camera system here is actually powered by the running light circuit, meaning it's gonna have power and you're gonna get a picture in the vehicle whenever we have our running lights on. So we're traveling down the highway, whether we wanna see behind us, maybe we need to get over in a lane, or we just wanna see what's going on at the back of our trailer. This is gonna be an excellent option for this. It does a lot more than just serve to help us back up. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on the 2020 Reflection fifth wheel by Grand Design. So this is your platform-style rack. It's great for your heavy bikes, your electric bikes. Each tray can accommodate up to 66 pounds per bike, and it is rated for your fifth wheels, RVs, motor homes, cars, trucks. So we're gonna have three attachment points, two straps on both of your wheels and a frame mount. What I like about the frame mount is that it has these grooves for added traction, and they're rubberized for added protection. more

Swagman Escapee 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2020 Grand Design Reflection Fifth Wheel- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Swagman Escapee Bike Rack on the 2020 Reflection Fifth Wheel by Grand Design. This is your platform-style rack rated for your fifth wheels, RVs, pretty much anything, you can carry up to 60 pounds per bike. Quick thing to note is we have a 26 inch handle bar, and if there is some slight bumps on the road, it will smack into the back of your Reflection, so you can definitely put a tennis ball or like a pool noodle over here and it should be okay. So we have two attachment points, a front wheel mount and a back strap. Front wheel mount makes it perfect for your carbon frame bike, so you don't warp or damage the frame. Let's go ahead and take the bike off. more

Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit Installation - 2021 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer- Video
Hi there, Imagine owners. Today, on your 2021 Grand Design Imagine XLS, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your equalizers with Dexter's E-Z Flex. And this is what our equalizers look like when they're installed. We can see that it replaces our old one here. We also get heavy-duty upgraded shackles with it. And these are wet bolts in them, so we can grease those to ensure that they stay lubricated and operating for a long time. more

Hi there, Grand Design owners. Today on your 2020 Grand Design Momentum, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install MORryde's sliding storage trays. So now that we've got both of our trays installed, we can check their operation. You'll lift up on the handle to be able to slide it out. As you slide it out, you're gonna hit your lock position and that's kind of it maximum travel here. Now we can lift it up just a little bit to get a little more travel. more

Hey everyone! Shane here, with Etrailer.com Today, I have a 2021 Grand Design Reflection 5th-wheel, and I'm going to walk through how to install the Solera, 15 foot 7 inch, Slide Topper. Slide toppers, in my opinion, are a must if you have a camper without one. The reason is, is, if we didn't have one, we go to slide our box out, the top of our box is open. When it's open it can collect debris. If we go to a park with a lot of trees, a lot of leaves, sticks, stuff like that. You have to get up there and clean it off every single time. more

And this is what our slipper spring boxes look like when they're installed. We've got the full triple axle kit installed. The back section here is set up very similar to like a tandem axle. Hi, there, fifth wheel owners. Today on your 2020 Grand Design Momentum, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Comfort Ride suspension system for triple axles. And this is what our comfort ride system looks like when it's installed. This is gonna be the ultimate in trailer suspension, because each of our axles are gonna be completely independent from one another because of our slipper spring boxes. Additionally, on top of that, each axle has its own shock absorber. So all the vibrations that you hit going down the road are gonna be absorbed significantly and are dampeners here, so it's not gonna transfer inside of our trailer. more

MORryde Round Trailer Axle U-Bolts Installation - 5th Wheels- Video
Hi there, trailer owners. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install MORryde's U-bolt kit for a 7,000 pound axle. So now, we're gonna be replacing our U-bolts because these ones are too short for the suspension upgrades that we're gonna be putting on here. So, we've got our new U-bolts here. We can see these side by side. I'll go ahead and take the nut off of it, so you can see how this U-bolt is longer than the factory one. more

ABS Double Eye Springs Step Bolt Installation - 5th Wheel- Video
Hi there, trailer owners. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at a replacement step bolt, in a 9/16" diameter for a 1 3/4-inch spring eye hanger. These are also known as shackle bolts. So, here we've got our old spring, and our new spring. And if we look at our old spring, you'll see, it's got a bunch of grease around the edges here. And if we look at the bushings inside of our old spring, we can see that the bushing is all worn out. more
