The EXO system is a modular system that allows you to customize how it's set up. With this particular configuration, we have the gear locker and the SkinnyWarrior with the top shelf attachment, but you can configure it with a lot of different accessories. And what that means for you with your Explorer, it's gonna allow you to increase your cargo area to get those bigger, bulkier things out for your adventure. How's it goin', neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're takin' a look at the Yakima SkinnyWarrior rooftop basket on our 2020 Ford Explorer. Adding a rooftop basket to the top of your Explorer is gonna allow you to increase your cargo capacity by takin' advantage of the negative space on top of your roof. What's special about the SkinnyWarrior is the fact that it is narrow, so that allows you to get a basket up here, but frees up the other half of your roof rack system to add in other things like kayak carriers, bike carriers, or maybe even a cargo box. Takin' a closer look at the SkinnyWarrior itself, the way that it works, it's gonna have a clamp system that wraps around your bars. Right now, I have the Thule WingBar Evo on here, but they'll work with just about any style bar. So if you have round, square, factory, whatever, this is gonna work for you. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT seven pole trailer wiring on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Now this is gonna be a great addition to adding a hitch to your vehicle, whether you have a trailer as a seven pole or if it needs a brake controller. This is gonna be the first step of that because you're gonna need that seven pull function that's gonna allow you to get a harness and brake controller installed super easy. Overall, this installation is pretty simple. It's using that factory plug, so really you should be able to knock this out in about 15 minutes or so. So as far as installation goes, I'm gonna walk you through all of those steps to make sure that you get yours installed. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at e-trailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Now, this is a traditional style braking controller, which basically means that you are gonna have a unit mounted up and this one's pretty thin with the bracket, it actually fits pretty well on our explorer here. They have it in a nice spot that's easily accessible for the driver, it doesn't get in the way of anything. And this is gonna be a great brake controller. It plugs in directly to the factory tow package with the adapter harness. And really, it's super easy to gain access to your manual override, it feels really good. more

Now the first one is gonna be the base plate which is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle creating a nice structural support for your tow bar to be able to connect from your base plate to the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we have our safety chains and that's just in case of an accidental disconnect. It's still gonna keep everything attached and the mounting points are already on the base plate for you. Now, the first one is gonna be the base plate, which is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle, creating a nice structural support for your tow bar to be able to connect from your base plate to the hitch on the RV. Now, going along with that, we have our safety chains, and that's just in case of an accidental disconnect. It's still gonna keep everything attached, and the mounting points are already on the base plate for you. You also have your diode wiring, which is gonna transmit light signals from the RV to the taillights on the towed vehicle. more

Hi Matt with etrailer. and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE bike rack on the 2018 Ford Explorer. Now this is gonna be one of our more heavy duty platform bike racks. It's gonna have the potential to hold up the two bikes up the 80 pounds per bike so that's gonna be able to accommodate your e-bikes. And what's also great about that is 80 pounds is a lot of weight, so compared to other e-bike carriers it's gonna outperform most of them. Since it is able to accommodate 80 pounds per bike, it's also gonna be a little bit more difficult to maneuver around but it's also gonna have three tie-down points, two in the tires, and then one on our main frame. more

Demco SBS Towed Car Conversion Kit Installation - 2018 Ford Explorer- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Towed vehicle Conversion. Now this is gonna be if you had a Stay-IN-Play DUO which is a great braking system but you've upgraded your coach to air brakes, this is gonna allow you to convert to an Air Force One and that way you can get air brakes working on your towed vehicle. So throughout a flat tow vehicle's lifespan sometimes you end up upgrading either the vehicle or the coach, and that means not everything plays ball. So if you've gone to a larger coach with air brakes then unfortunately the Stay-IN-Play DUO is not going to be working. So instead of taking out the entire system you can simply buy the conversion which is gonna give you the main unit here as well as the lines to hook up to the front, your air line, also your fitting here, and also the tank and fittings to hook up to the air supply on your RV. Now this is a pretty simple system especially if you have everything in place, You just kind of cut a few wires. more
