Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 GMC Acadia, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install, the CURT 7-Pole Wiring Harness. Adding the 7-pole wiring harness to the back of your Acadia is gonna allow you to tow trailers with brakes. And typically, a 4-pole wiring harness is gonna be for your trailers with without brakes. That's just the lighting signals transferred from your vehicle to the trailer. But if you're wanting to tow trailers that have brakes, or maybe a reverse light signal or if the trailer has a battery on it, or any accessory that runs off 12 volt, you're gonna need a 7-pole. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 GMC Acadia, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite Class 3 two-inch hitch receiver. Adding a two-inch hitch receiver to the back of your Acadia is gonna allow you to haul bike racks, cargo carriers. And if you wanna put a small step back here to be able to get onto your roof, you can do that, too. And when paired with wiring, either four-pole or seven-pole, our Acadia was prepped for both of those, so you can get the appropriate kit, get it plugged in. How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima CoreBar system with the TimberLine Towers on our 2021 GMC Acadia. Now as far as adding a roof rack system to your vehicle, that's gonna help solve the problem of having additional space for your cargo and still loading up your vehicle with passengers. Having a roof rack also helps you with getting out there and having fun 'cause it can also support kayak carriers, bike carriers, as well as cargo boxes, as your weight capacity on the CoreBar system is at 220 pounds. However, you're definitely gonna want to consult with your manufacturer's instructions to see what the maximum capacity of the roof is. The best benefit of not having a fixed mounting point system and taking advantage of your raised rails is the fact that you can adjust your spread for whatever accessory you're using, like some of the items I listed, or maybe a tent. The bars themselves are 50 inches long, about three inches wide, two and three quarters and an inch tall. more

This bike rack is gonna be great for carrying those extra heavy electric bikes as you can carry up to 70 pounds per bike. It's also gonna be great if you have a motor home fifth wheel travel trailer, or if you wanna flat tow this on your journeys as well. It's gonna be made out of a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable, lasts a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. Since we are being held on by the frame mount, it's not gonna be great for your carbon frame style bikes as it might work or damage the frame. Something to keep in mind. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 GMC Acadia- Video

Well neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver on a 2018 GMC Acadia. Now this is what your hitch looks like when it's installed and technically it does have an exposed cross tube but the way that it sits on the vehicle, it keeps it nice and hidden and really the only thing that you're gonna see is gonna be the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and the safety chain loop plate. Now being two inch by two inch means that you're gonna have tons of different options when it comes to ball mounts or any accessory that you'll be loading in your hitch. And all of them are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. Now this is not included with the hitch. A lot of times your accessories will come with that. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Seris MHS modular bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. Because of the double tire hold, this bike rack can accommodate a lot of different kinds of bikes, especially your carbon frames and those with a custom paint job, pretty much the only kind would be those with a fender and it does have a tilt away feature, which is awesome. The only problem is with our long handlebars here. Our hatch is going to make contact at about right here but we can just take the bike off to be able to access that. We are gonna have three attachment points, a strap for the front tire and then two of the wheel mounts. To take the bike off, we're gonna start with the strap and just get that out of the way. more

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Door County Bike Rack here on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now the Door County is going to be a platform style rack, holding the bike down in these trays with two wheel straps and primarily holding it upright with this clamp around the frame here, that is gonna mean that our carbon frame bikes we're probably gonna wanna avoid just because we do have some pretty big frame contact and it's clamping down on that frame. So we don't want to damage it. But with the way this attaches down here rather than like a hook on the top tube, I think our alternative frame bikes are gonna be just fine. more

Now the GuideRail is a platform-style bike rack that will hold the bike in these trays by the tires. So that means we're gonna have zero frame contact making this good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity, per bike, even good for some of our e-bikes with that battery removed. Now, personally, I like this style of holding the bike because it's really easy to load and unload and you still get a really good hold on the bike here. more

Saris MHS Modular 2 Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Saris MHS modular bike rack on the 2019 GMC Acadia. Because of the double tire hold, this bike rack can accommodate a lot of different kinds of bikes, especially your carbon frames, and those with a custom paint job, pretty much the only kind would be those with a fender, but you can carry up to 60 pounds per bike, and it does have a tote away feature, which is awesome. The only problem is with our long handle bars here, our hatch is going to make contact at about right here, but we can just take the bike off to be able to access that. We are gonna have three attachment points, a strap for the front tire, and then two of the wheel mounts to take the bike off. We're gonna start with the strap, and just get that out of the way. And then from here, we can go ahead and push on this gray button, swing that out of the way, and then keeping one hand on the frame, so it doesn't fall on your vehicle, we can now push on this gray button, and get that out of the way, and now our bike is free. more

Reese Solo Cargo Carrier Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Hey everyone, Charles, here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the 32x48 Reese Solo Cargo Carrier on our 2019 GMC Acadia. This is gonna be great for freeing up a lot of space in your vehicle for more gear, extra passengers, or pets. A couple reasons why I would prefer a hitch cargo carrier over a roof-mounted one is because it's gonna be a lot easier to load and unload those heavier, bulkier items. And it'll free up space for kayaks and/or fishing poles. From the bumper to the first point of shank rise right here, it's gonna be about five inches before we hit that rise. And the clearance before we open our hatch and make contact is gonna be about 13 inches from when we open it. more

But we're gonna have 60 pounds of weight capacity per bike. And it does tilt away, but unfortunately, on our Acadia here, it does not make clearance past these longer handle bars right here. more

Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Installation - 2022 Gmc Acadia- Video

Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Trailer Wiring Harness here on our 2022 GMC Acadia. Trailer wiring harness, simply put, is gonna be able to transfer these signals from the vehicle to our trailer, so we can let other motorists out in the road know what signals we're gonna be making, allowing us to arrive to our destination safe and sound. A lot of the times, our camping trailers, the larger trailers, actually block the taillights on the vehicle, so we need a way to transfer these signals from the vehicle to the trailer. Now, this is not only a safety concern, it's also a legal requirement in every state. This trailer connector here has the most standard type of connection on the market, it's known as a 4-way or a 4-pole flat, and this is gonna transfer all of your basic lighting functions such as the stop and turn signal circuits for either side as well as the running lights. We also have a nice dust cap here, which is gonna protect those pins from corrosion, 'cause we don't want any water to get in there that'll curl the circuits and cause lighting issues, it also doubles as a way to secure the trailer connector. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Hey, everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. This is gonna be a great bike rack to use to transport your bikes of up to 45 pounds each. Since it is a frame mount, you probably wouldn't use this on a carbon frame style bike, but it is gonna be made out of steel, so it's gonna be very durable and last a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. One of the great features about this rack is that it does tilt away using this lever on the back. We can still keep our bikes on the rack without having to take them off, and be able to access our hatch to grab our helmets, waters, whatever we need for our bike ride. We're gonna hear it snap back into place and that's how we know it's secure. more
