How does the Curt Discovery NEXT Trailer Brake Controller fit on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee?- Video
Howdy, dear neighbors, Ian with etrailer. And today, we're gonna be looking at the Curt Discovery, and kinda taking a look at the functions, and then the install for that unit. Let's get right into it. So, a couple great things about the Curt Discovery here opposed to some of the other units, it's gonna have a very small footprint when it's up there, but if you needed to remove it, it's just a quick disconnect, and we can use that nice harness that we've got down there, that's gonna be just factory plugs, so it's gonna look very factory underneath the dash, it's not gonna have any butt connectors or connections that you need to make where you're tying into wires opposed to just quick connecting. One other thing I wanted to mention about the size of that since we're talking about it, is that the Tekonsha units do seem to sit out a little bit further, I've got this one here just to kinda show the difference between what the profiles would be of the two. So, you could see the Discovery is gonna be a little more flush to the dash if visual appeal is gonna be a concern of yours with your brake controller. more

etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit Installation - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look, and installing the etrailer Base Plate on a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There's five main components required for flat towing any vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side, we have our base plate, and that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle, creating a structural mounting point, for not only your tow bar, but all of your other components. So connecting to that base plate, we have the tow bar, so this will go from that base plate to the hitch on the RV, and that's what tows the car down the road. And just like a trailer, you do have safety cables, just in case of a disconnect, it's gonna hold everything together. We also have diode wiring, which is gonna transmit the light signals from the RV to the taillights on the towed vehicle, giving you your running lights, your turn signals, and brake lights, and sometimes, your braking systems will need to tie into diode wiring, so that is a highly recommended item. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer and today we're talking about the Thule roof rack on top of our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now this can be a great option for you if you're running out of space in the back of your vehicle and you need to store any of those additional items somewhere else because maybe you got a lot of people with you or you're already storing a lot of your other luggage back here. Putting it on top of your roof is going to be a great option, especially if you do have a roof box. So let's check it out. The reason why I say this is great for more items like roof boxes is because we don't have a lot of real estate on our crossbars and that's because these are flush mounted crossbars and what that means is we don't have any overhang, it just ends at the tower. So, which is nice if you want that more clean design to your crossbars, but if you want anything to put up here like a kayak or skis, that's gonna be a lot more difficult because you're gonna have to reach over here a lot more. more

So one of the awesome things about the Blue Ox Patriot supplemental braking systems is the fact that they're super easy to set up, which can allow you to, you know, take it outta one vehicle and put it in another. So if you maybe just pick this Jeep up and you already have a Patriot system and another vehicle that you flat tow and you wanna pull the Jeep too, you could get this kit and set it up on your Jeep and that'll allow you to take that braking system that you already have and use it on your Grand Cherokee. Today we have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the DrawTite class four two inch hitch receiver. Adding a two inch hitch receiver to your Grand Cherokee is gonna allow you to do a couple different things. First off, a lot of people like to use, especially a hitch this heavy rated, they like to use their hitch to pull small trailers. And if you plan on doing that, I highly recommend installing a wiring harness on the back of your Jeep so that you can safely get those lights powered on your trailer. You can use it for cargo carriers, bike racks if you wanna mount a small winch on the back if you take your Grand Cherokee off road, some people do. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
How's it going, this is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four-bike carrier on the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Destination is a four-bike platform carrier, and as far as being a carrier, is one of the better values to move four bikes. It is a frame mount where you're gonna have contact with your bike's frame, and then you have two straps along with the cradles that are gonna tie down to keep your wheels and everything stable. As far as how close you get to the vehicle with the bike on the closest position, you can kind of see with my handlebar here, I'm pretty close. Rocking it right here, I wouldn't be worried about it making contact, but it's something to definitely consider when you're making your purchase as far as the length of your handlebars. Flint Hill Goods 29 x 49 Carrier with Ramp Review - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
How's it going This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods aluminum cargo carrier on the back of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So why would you need this type of cargo carrier Well, my time in customer service, I usually recommend this type of carrier, or this one specifically to people who are primarily carrying wheelchairs due to the ramp. However, it does come in handy for other applications 'cause you can, the ramp can support that full 500 pounds as well, so you'd be able to roll on heavier items, but you can also use it for like your bulkier items that take up a lot of space in your cargo area in your Grand Cherokee. All right, so let's actually get a measurement of the usable space with the ramp in the upright position. So as far as that getting around the post, it's right at 27 and a half and this guy, I'd say right at 47, eh, 47 and three quarters to be conservative with the space. So that's plenty of room to actually tie off. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Swagman XC2 Two-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The XC2 is gonna be a very popular option because it's at a very affordable price point where you still get the stability of a platform rack without paying the usual platform rack prices. This is gonna be a very minimalistic bike rack, though, where you have your basic features and ideal for people that don't wanna spend extra for features they may not need. So all in all, this can carry a 35-pound bike, or two of them, actually. And then you have your basic wheel hoops and a frame mount. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike platform rack. We're gonna take a look at how it fits on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So the Destination four is actually one of my favorite bike racks to recommend for people just getting into the bike rack world because it's very versatile, it's very lightweight, it's very compact, and it can carry most types of bikes. Now it does have its downsides too where it has a 35 pound per bike weight capacity. So if you have a heavy electric bike, this might not be the best fit for you, but if you're looking for something that is not super duper large, but has the stability of a platform rack, this is a great option to look at. Now we are missing out on a feature here, which is gonna be the tilt away feature. more

This is gonna be a great bike rack if you're looking for something that's gonna be able to haul a lot of bikes up to three bikes and if you don't want any frame contact. What's gonna give that ability is this strap down here that's just connecting to our tire and this ratcheting hook on our tire up here. And that's great if you're looking for hauling any carbon frame bikes or alternative frame bikes. And then we're gonna have the ability to haul 40 pounds per bike. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Air Force One supplemental braking system for flat towing your vehicle behind your RV. This system's also going to be a second vehicle kit. And essentially what that is, is it's designed to fit your vehicle if you're in one of three situations, if you decide to get a different braking system and the rest of your car is already set up to flat tow all you have to do is just get this kit. And another situation would be is if you get a different motorhome and it doesn't have the system on it to control your vehicle via air. If you have a say, a Stay-IN-Play DUO or a portable system and you want to use the air from your motorhome to be able to control the brakes on your vehicle then you can switch over to this kit also. more

Curt Echo In-Line Bluetooth Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hi John with etrailer. If your Jeep is already equipped with a trailer tow package and seven pole wiring, but you need a brake controller, then check this option out from CURT, this is the CURT Inline Bluetooth brake controller and then we've installed this on our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now on the app, you can save up to five different profiles if you have multiple trailers. That is handy. Now we've selected profile one and on this you're gonna be able to adjust your maximum break output, your sensitivity output, and you're gonna have a large circle, which is gonna be your manual overrider sway control. Now we have a brake box simulator that is hooked up to the rear of our Jeep right now, so that if I do press the brakes, you're gonna see them applying and you're gonna have the brake lights left and right on the brakes being applied. more

Listen, if you are already set up to tow like these folks here and they just wanted to add their Jeep to their arsenal of flat towed vehicles, well this is one of the options that you have out there. This is gonna adapt a Roadmaster base plate to certain types of tow bars. This right here is the Roadmaster Tow Bar Adapter on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now to begin your installation, it's gonna be easiest if you have your arms mounted into your base plate. For us today we have a hash mark on the inside. more

Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System Installation - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now there's five main components required when flat towing a vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side it's gonna be your base plate and the base plate is going to attach to the structural frame or at least bumper supports of a vehicle, creating a solid mounting point. It's also gonna create other mounting points for your other components, including your tow bar. So your tow bar's gonna attach to the arms and that's gonna be the connection point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we also have our safety chains and that's going to make sure in case of a disconnect we still have the cables attached to the vehicle. more
