Today we have a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift WirelessOne Air Compressor for airbags. Having a set of airbags or air helper springs on the back of your 1500 is extremely helpful when you're wanting to level out your load if you're hauling heavy stuff in the bed of your truck all the time, or a trailer behind your truck. The particular truck we're working on today hauls a fifth wheel camper to go on vacations and he had an immense amount of sag in the rear end. So he had put on a set of airbags himself, but he wanted a little bit of help by putting on an air compressor so that he doesn't have to get out the bike pump every time he wants to air up his airbags. Having a set of airbags is only as convenient as you can use them, so having an onboard air compressor is definitely gonna help you to adjust that air pressure on the fly. more

B&W 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches Base Rails Kit Installation - 2018 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer.com. Today we have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the B and W above-bed rails. These rails are gonna allow you to mount up your industry-standard fifth wheel, it'll drop right into one of these three sets of holes. So if you're dropping into the outer hole, you're also gonna be using the outer hole on the other side. These holes is what, are what's gonna make it an industry-standard rail because these measurements, or the spacing in between 'em is going to be the industry standard. The B and W Patriot that we're using today, for example, is going to use the outer holes, because it needs the stability from the outer holes in order to accomplish the weight capacity that it has. more

Hey guys, it's Shane here, with etrailer. Today we have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, and we're gonna be taking a look at the B&W Patriot fifth wheel hitch. Right off the bat, you might be thinking to yourself, how are they gonna be able to use the standard fifth wheel hitch in the bed of a short bed truck Well, that's possible because they have a rotating pin box on their fifth wheel. It is actually a really, really good pairing. I would personally say, almost better than a sliding fifth wheel, because a sliding fifth wheel, you have to get out to give yourself more space to be able to make turns. Whereas if you have a rotating pin box on your fifth wheel, such as the Turning Point or the the Sidewinder, the Reese Sidewinder, those work perfect with this. more

Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs Installation - 2018 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install our Air Lift Air Control Air Helper Springs on our 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. These air helper springs, or more commonly known as air bags, are going to mount to the side of your frame rail and in already pre-existing holes into the top of your leaf spring pack. And essentially what they're designed to do is to help limit the travel of your suspension. Whenever you're hooking up to a trailer or hauling a heavy load in the bed of your truck, the air bag's gonna take some of the weight so that your truck doesn't have to squat so bad and you can get the front end of your truck back on the ground, your headlights will be back, pointed at the road. A lot of times when people are towing super heavy things with 1500s, because they're built more for comfort than a 2500 or a 3500, they can tend to squat a lot in the back, and that's what these are designed to help with. more

Adding an onboard air compressor to your truck is gonna allow you to inflate and deflate your airbags, so that you don't have to get out and do it with a manual compressor. Airbags on the back of a truck, especially like a 1500, is very, very handy to have, but it can be really annoying to have to get out and change the air pressure, especially if you don't know what air pressure you've used before, or if you're hauling a foreign trailer to your truck. It just helps to add a compressor on here, so that with the push of a button on the remote or on your phone, you can increase or decrease the air pressure as you're traveling down the road. The compressor and the control module are going to mount directly to the side of your frame rail. more

Malone TradeSport Truck Bed Ladder Rack Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Malone TradeSport Ladder Rack on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Adding a ladder rack system to the back of your pickup helps resolve the issue of needing to carry materials that are longer than the bed of your truck. With this one, this is a 6 1/2-foot box, and if you had longer lumber, a longer ladder than my demo ladder, or even like your sports and rec side, kind of how the name implies, if you have a surfboard, canoes, fishing rod holder, that's a longer one for like fly rods, this is gonna work for that as well. In general, this is just the best way to maximize negative space in the back of your vehicle that you otherwise wouldn't have access to. Let's grab some measurements to see what we're adding to the back of our vehicle. So from the bottom of the bed to the bar, we're right at 50 inches. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Review - 2024 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the Kat NV 2.0 on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Now this is gonna be more specific for your 1500 Sierra. If you want a little bit more in depth on the rack itself, we do have a full review, but this is just gonna be how it interacts with the back of the truck and some key features. The NV 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, so that means it's not gonna make any contact with the frame, just at the front and rear wheel. The capacity for this is super solid. So it's gonna work for your super light road bikes that have carbon fiber frames with the no contact, as well as going all the way up to your 60-pound E-bikes. more

So adding tie-down points to the back of your bed is gonna allow you to be able to secure your load when you're going down the road. This particular vehicle already has some from the factory, but it's always a good idea to have additional tie-down points. And you're gonna pop out your rubber knockouts and just replace them with these guys here. They slide right in, and they're secured using a Phillips head screwdriver. And it also frees up a lot of space elsewhere in your vehicle, especially if you have the short box like this 5.5 foot. It gives you more room to take advantage of other gear for your activities. Titan Twist Link Tire Chains Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Titan Chain twist link chains on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Our Titan Chain chains are twist link style, and as you can see, you have chain links that are twisted and what that does for you, it allows you to get better traction in ice, snow, and mud. These guys are rated for on road. The material is a steel alloy that's designed to hold up against corrosion and the elements and salt, like you can see that's in the tread of our truck here. The way that it secures are gonna be links on the rear and a latch on the front. With the size tire that we have, the 255/70R17, it was a lot of slack on the chain, so I would suggest adding a rubber adjuster, that's gonna help pull the tension towards the middle. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima Skinny Warrior Rooftop Rack Cargo Basket on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Adding a rooftop cargo basket is a great way to increase your cargo capacity and get those bigger bulkier items on the road with you, especially if you're loaded down with your crew cab and you have passengers on the inside. The thing that makes the Skinny Warrior cool is the fact that it doesn't take up your entire roof, so it frees up half of your roof rack system for maybe a cargo box or even kayak carriers or a bike carrier. The skinny warrior is 58 inches long. There's an available 16 inch extension to get you additional space if you we inchesre to need that. On the Sierra additional 16 inches will get you hanging over the bed, but you know it's still available and it would work. more

Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Titan Chains Roller Link Cable Chains on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Our roller links are gonna be your economy option, and, generally speaking, this is gonna be something that you keep in your vehicle for a worst case scenario if you need it, kind of along the lines of a spare tire. If you use 'em, you're not gonna have a very long life out of them. However, they are definitely better than nothing to add additional traction in light snow and light ice. As far as the clearance, out of all of the cables I've done today in tire chains, this is gonna have the lowest clearance behind the vehicle, behind the wheel, on the inside of the wheel well, you're not making contact with anything. It's really tight against the wheel. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the front and rear WeatherTech floor liner mats on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. What WeatherTech mats are gonna do for you, it's gonna actually give you more coverage area than your OEM mat. Generally the space is gonna just cover the floor, whereas with the WeatherTech, it's gonna go all the way up the sides of the walls. What that means for you, it's gonna give you more surface area, protecting the carpet in those high traffic areas with people getting in and out of your truck. The measuring for the contours of the mat itself is a proprietary laser measuring system that allows for it to be a perfect fit to just slide right into place. Malone CrossBed Truck Bed Rack Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 1500- Video

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Malone Cross Bed Ladder Rack System on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Having a ladder rack system is gonna allow you to get those longer items like ladders, lumber, PVC pipe, or even things for your sports and rec activities like canoes or bike carriers or T-track accessories. Included with the cross sport are gonna be four load stops that you're gonna be able to make adjustments with using the black knob, they fit into your T-track, which is 7/8-inch wide. That's gonna work with all your T-track accessories, and you'll be able to use the rubber stripping to fill in the spaces to help reduce wind noise. As far as your towers, these guys are gonna have a padding system that's underneath that makes contact with the top of the bed and a clamp on the rear to secure it to the top of the vehicle. You're 3.5 inches as far as the width, and then the thickness is right at an inch and a half. more

As you can see, taking a look from the driver's perspective in the rear view mirror, this is where your visibility is with the stock mirror. So you notice you have a pretty good amount of space, but you don't have a full picture of the lanes next to you. Adding your towing mirror gives you this wider perspective so you can see more of what's going on behind you, and it just gives you an extra measure of safety.
