Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Chevy Suburban

In this video we are going to show you how to install a Thule Crossroad roof rack onto a Suburban with existing side rails. We will be using the Thule Crossroad feet, part number TH450, and Thules 58 inch load bars, part number THLB58. The Crossroad pack comes with four Crossroad feet, the end caps with the built in Allen key and four smaller end caps that will go on the end of our bars. The Crossroad feet are designed to quickly and easily attach to the factory side rails on your vehicle. The band is actually a steel band coated in rubber. This gives it plenty of strength but the rubber also protects your factory side rails. It is going to loop around your side rail and connect back to the foot. Then we will use the end cap with the built in Allen head wrench to tighten down this bolt. It will tighten the whole system down to your vehicle, as well as tighten down the crossbars in the foot. 0:55 more

Today on this 2008 Chrysler Aspen with factory raised side rails we are going to install a Thule Crossroad roof rack system. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and now we are ready to go ahead and mount them up on our side rails. There is a few things that you are going to want to make sure to do when positioning the roof rack. First you need to check to make sure that the overhang of the crossbars is even on both the driver side and the passenger side. The last thing we need to do is make sure that our new crossbar is running perpendicular with our factory raised side rails. To do that we are going to measure from the crossroad foot to the front mount of the side rail on both sides of the vehicle and make sure this measurement is even. Once we have our positioning set we are ready to tighten down the front bar assembly we will move back and forth from the passenger side to the driver side to make sure that we tighten down the system evenly. After we have the front crossbar tightened down we are ready to mount the rear. :54 more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2003 Nissan Murano

Today we have a 2003 Nissan Murano, and were going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack System. We will be using the 50 square load bars along with Thules crossroad feet. We already have our load bar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to mount them on the vehicle. When mounting the front load bar assembly we need to check three things. First we need to make sure the bar is overhanging evenly on both sides of the vehicles, second we need to make sure the crossroad feet are centered on top of our side rails, and finally we need to make sure that the front load bar runs perpendicular to the factory raised side rails. To do this we are going to find a fixed point on the side rails on both sides of the vehicle, and measure from that point to the front edge of the crossroad feet and make sure the measurement is the same on both sides. more

We already have the front one installed. It's a nice, sturdy bar, along with the rear load bar. It has a carry capacity of 165 pounds, although you want to double check with your vehicles manual to make sure it can withstand that weight on the roof, as well as the bars. We already have the front one installed, let's go ahead and show you how the rear one installs. It's very easy and very quick, and these can fit on multiple vehicles. We'll take our Crossroads foot pack, make sure it's in the open position, and this portion here will slide on to the end of our load bar. more

Now theres a cutout from the anchor point of the raised side rails and the horizontal bar that runs across which we will use as our fixed point. Well make sure the distance from the first part of the foot to this fixed point is equal on both the passenger and drivers side to ensure the front load bar is perpendicular to the raised side rails of our Rogue. Once weve established this position onto our roof, well then pop off the end cap to bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the raised side rail. Well then hook them back into position and use the included Allen key to tighten down the black bolt to bring the rubber-coated steel straps up tightly against the side rail. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Nissan Rogue

Today on this 2011 Nissan Rogue we are going to show you how to install a Thule Crossroad roof rack system. The Thule Crossroad system is designed to attach to vehicles with factory raised side rails like we have on our Rogue. Once we have the crossbars assembled, we can place them on top of our side rails. Make sure that they are spaced evenly on both sides with the side rails so that the crossbars run perpendicular to your vehicle. Once you have the front crossbar in place, you can use the integrated tool on the end cap to tighten them down. The Crossroad feet attach to the factory side rails using a rubber coated steel band. This band will strongly and securely grip your side rails but the rubber coating will help protect them as well. As we tighten down the clamp on the Crossroad foot, it also tightens the crossbar into the foot. We will move back and forth from the driver side to the passenger side to make sure the rack tightens down evenly and we do not lose our positioning. 0:57 more

If you don't have a fixed point on your side rail you can simply get them lined up by taking a measurement. Here on the passenger side we'll bring our strap around our bar, fit it back into the foot pack and tighten down the Allen bolt with the included tool to secure our strap around our bar. Once we've got that tight we can slide the tool back into the foot pack and repeat that process for the other side. more
