This kit is really nice, because it works with the flush rails on our Yukon here. Just holds on to these lips on the rails by the clamps on the feet of the system. If you're looking to transport some larger items, like maybe some ski and snowboard carriers, maybe some roof boxes, baskets, or up to kayaks, and you want a way to get those to where you need them to go, a roof rack system like this is a really good option. The crossbars themselves are 60 inches a piece, technically capable of supporting up to 220 pounds, but the feet that we're using today are actually only able to support 165 pounds. more

Now, when you add a roof rack to your vehicle, what that does for you, it allows you to increase your cargo area by taking advantage of the negative space on top of your vehicle. So let's take a quick look at some of the features and how it works on our vehicle. As far as our bars, these are going to go 50 inches across and it's gonna give you the adjustability to kind of have hangover if you need it, if you had, like, a awning or something like that, or a road shower. You also can attach those T channel track items using the track that's included. A cool feature on this, it comes with rubber insulation that's gonna basically cut the wind, and the design of it itself is similar to a airplane's wing. more

Adding a roof rack system to your Tucson is a great solution to get those bigger, bulkier items out on the road with you, when you're loaded down with your full passenger capacity, that's gonna take up a lot of cargo space as well as the fact that just rolling off the line, it doesn't have a lot of cargo space, and this is gonna help solve that problem. The WingBar gets its name from the obvious shape here, where it's very similar to a airplane's wing where it's more wide and rounded at the front and it tapers off towards the back. What that does for you, that's gonna help it cut through the wind resistance a lot better and help with the noise that that are common and notorious with roof rack systems. Overall, with the height of this guy from the plate is gonna keep you at a pretty low profile compared to other rack systems and you have a little bit of hang over that's gonna allow you to tie off and take advantage of your channel slots without having to remove your foot. So in here you have a seven eighth inch T track that you can slide through the middle of your rubber fitting here and that'll still keep you from having that whistle that you get from the wind and still have like eyelid tie downs or any other channel mounted accessory. more

Now, this can be a great option for you, because the Compass doesn't have a lot of space in the back anyways, and eventually you're probably gonna run outta space if you are taking a trip. So a good place to store that extra luggage, or whatever you have, is gonna be on top of your roof. And this is gonna be a great option, because we're gonna have a decent amount of space to play around with here, because this one we have today has a little bit of overhang. A typical advantage to having a roof rack that has overhang to it is you're gonna be able to put those clamp-on accessories at the very end. It's gonna be more ideal if you have anything like a kayak, or if you have skis. more

Hey everyone. It's Colin here at etrailer and today we have a 2019 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 and we're going to go and do a test fit of the Thule wing bar evo roof rack system. This is a roof rack designed to mount to the flush side rails of your Mercedes. It gives you a nice option to get some rooftop accessories loaded up, whether you want to get a couple of bikes up there so that if you're mountain biking or anything like that, you don't want to toss those bikes inside your nice Mercedes. You can get them on top of your roof. If you want to throw a couple of kayaks up there so you can go out to the water, that'll eliminate having to rent kayaks or having to get some type of a trailer to pull your kayaks around because we know you're probably not even going to get one kayak inside your Mercedes.You could also put a cargo box up there so that if you're going on a big trip and you need some extra cargo loaded up that you can't fit inside the vehicle, we can get it up in that cargo box. more
