Review of Voyager RV Electronics VCMS50RCM

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Voyager Camera with LED low light assist. This is a side-mount camera and it's designed for the right-hand side of your RV. This camera gives a really nice image, really nice disk play. It's going to deliver real-time images of the vehicle surroundings and that's really going to help the driver when it comes to changing lanes, passing, merging, or making wide turns. This is a CMOS camera, it's anti-blooming which means the bright areas that can appear around images are eliminated. This feature makes this camera more effective in high light and low light environments.

CMOS is simply a camera sensor technology. This camera is going to feature the infrared LED's. It's going to feature low light assist for easy to see images in low light or night time conditions, and it's going to feature high performance color optics. Now, this is designed for the right-hand side of the RV or motor home, so right-hand side installation. It's going to feature a corrosion resistant aluminum housing, it's very strong and durable. It's lightweight.

It's going to last for a long time. It's got that really nice chrome finish on it. And it's going to feature a rubber base that protects the motor home or RV at the mounting area. It's going to protect it against scratches or damage or scuffs. And it's going to create a nice, tight, seal to keep out dirt and moisture.

Now, the cord on the unit does come with a grommet. This is going to seal up the pass-through location. Overall it's going to feature a waterproof design. It features an IP69K rating. Taking a look at some of the dimensions real quick starting with the overall width, edge to edge, is about one and five-eighths of an inch.

Back to front is about three and a quarter. Then the overall height or depth from the mounting surface to the furthest south edge is about one and seven eighths, right in that area, maybe one in three quarters. The base does feature a four mount hole design. Mounting hardware is included. It also comes with a mounting template that's going to give you exact sizing, exact hole location, and drilling size of the areas that need to be created for this unit to be installed without really any questions asked. Its exact sizing, it makes the installation much easier. That template is included with the product. On the harness that comes with it, it's going to feature that four-pin connector that's easily going to connect to your RV's camera system. Now, other components of the system, like a monitor, control station, wiring harnesses and extensions, that's all sold separately. What you see here on the table is what you're going to get with this part number. That's going to do it for today's look at the Voyager Camera.
