Review of Rhino Rack Roof Rack RRVA137S

Male Speaker: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar with a matte silver finish. This is going to be a sleek, low-profile crossbar that's going to let you build an aftermarket roof rack for your vehicle. That way, you can easily haul your roof-mounted accessories. It does require Rhino Rack legs and possible a custom fit kit, depending on your vehicle, for a full roof rack system. Those items are sold separately. If you're in need of those, you can find them here at etrailer.com. The bar itself is going to be to be a nice, slim, elliptical crossbar.

It's really going to help create an extremely aerodynamic system, as well as a quiet system. The full-length bar is going to extend past the roof rack legs to maximize the space needed for your carriers and accessories. Here on the top of the bar, we're going to have a top channel. That's going to let you add channel-mounted carriers and accessories to your roof rack. Clamp-on accessories can still be used with the bar.

They'll simply just mount conveniently around the bars. The bar is designed to accept most roof-mounted accessories that are designed for aero and elliptical roof racks. Covering up those channels are going to be the rubberized vortex strips. Those are really going to help reduce drag and wind noise. They have got a nice design that really cuts through the wind and really breaks that noise up, so that's a nice design to have. Those are going to come in multiple pieces.

That way, it allows for easier installation of those accessories that you may have for the channel-mount here in the bar. These can be removed. They can be trimmed. They can be cut. You can just put slits in them for your accessories - really nice design.

You can see how that opening on the end of the bar is wider. That's going to give you access to slide your channel-mount accessories into the bar. So overall, really nice, convenient, easy to use design. Those strips are also going to help keep dirt and grime out of the bar and they're going to provide cushioning and slip-resistance for your cargo. Here on the bottom of the bar, we're going to have a bottom channel. That's going to allow for easy installation to the Rhino Rack roof rack legs. They're also going to have these rulers. That way you can trim these according to the measurements given in the fit kit that comes for your specific vehicle. You can trim these and that's going to ensure proper leg placement of the Rhino Rack legs and it's going to make sure that the bar is centered on the vehicle. And then you can reinstall the strips. This would actually be cut, so you can put a strip in front and behind the leg kit, which is going to help cover up any opening that we have left, and it's going to further assist in reducing wind noise during travel. Your end caps are included. On the end caps, it's going to contain lock cores. Those are plastic and can be upgraded to all-metal locks if desired. You can find those here at etrailer.com. Again, those metal lock cores are going to be sold separately but you can upgrade to those. But the plastic lock cores are going to come with a universal key. Those are really going to help deter theft of your accessories. The end caps go right in this area here - push all the way in, move it to a locked position, and that's going to secure the end cap to the bar. The other thing I want to point out is the construction of the bar. It's going to be made from a lightweight structural-grade aluminum. That's going to be highly resistant towards rust and corrosion. Here on the inside you can see that it has the internal H-shaped extrusion. That's going to provide exceptional bar strength. The bar is actually going to have a capacity of 165 pounds when used as a 2-bar system. You always want to refer to your vehicle's owner's manual to check the roof capacity, because you don't want to exceed the roof capacity of your vehicle, so definitely learn that - keep that in mind when hauling stuff on your roof rack. When it comes to the dimensions of the bar, it's going to give us an overall width of 3 and one-eighths of an inch. Overall height is going to be one and three-sixteenths of an inch. And then the lengths are going to vary. Here at etrailer.com, the bars are available in 41-inch, 44-inch, 49-inch, 54-inch, 59-inch, 65-inch, and 71-inch lengths. Again, the bar is a really nice system - very strong and dependable, durable design, and it's going to last a long time. Rhino Rack's going to stand behind their product and they're going to put a limited lifetime warranty on their bar. That's going to do it for today's look at the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar with the matte silver finish.
