Dometic RV Toilet - Part-Timer w/ Sprayer Standard Height - DOM97FR Review

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Dometic part-timer RV toilet. This is also going to have the hand sprayer. So in the good, better, best, this is going to be kind of the better category. This is going to be for somebody who's on the road fairly frequently, but maybe not living a full time out on the road life, they're not a total full-timer. This is going to be that toilet that you see in the kind of middle right there.

If you look at the comparison between the other styles we have here at etrailer.com.This is going to be the standard height, it's also available in a low profile, that's typically if you have a raised platform that that toilet sits on, or if you have an area where you just need a little bit more clearance, that's where you want the low height, but again, this is going to be standard height, similar to what you have at home. It's going to have a little bit shorter bowl, it has this round bowl design. You might be more used to something that's a little bit longer, so that's something to keep in mind, but that's also going to be a nice smaller profile again, if you need a slightly more compact commode to fit into your bathroom compartment. This does have the slow close lid, so even if you let that drop slowly closes so there's no slamming, there's no creaky sounds, which is really nice, especially if somebody is getting up in the middle of the night, you don't hear that lid slamming down, so it makes life a little bit more enjoyable there. The hand sprayer, pretty obvious it's going to allow us to clean up any kind of stubborn residue that might be in the bowl, helps you kind of pinpoint that water to go down so that way you're not wasting a bunch of water by holding that flush lever open. You don't want to waste water in your RV since you have a limited supply, and also you don't want to overfill your tank, or fill it too quickly. To operate the flush mechanism, it's just going to be this pedal on the side, obviously you're going to be using your foot, I'm using my hand because I have it here, but that's going to open up the valve to flush everything down. Also the water's going to come out of these angle jets, so it's going to create a vortex to get everything to go down a little bit smoother and easier.

If you want to take a look at that mechanism, you can see as the pedal gets pushed, it's going to open up that valve to allow everything to go down nice and easy. This is designed to be installed directly above your tank, so pretty easy install there. It does come with the hardware to get this in place, so it's just going to be the two T-bolts, flange nuts and washers, and then also those caps to go on the sides to cover the nuts, make it look a little bit nicer and they match the color to that. It also comes with a little holster for your hose to go into, your sprayer hose, that just mounts to the wall, comes with included hardware for that as well. We'll get two screws and a wall anchor, to make sure that we have a nice solid connection. All in all I think is going to be a really nice toilet. It kind of meets that sort of Goldilocks, middle of the road requirements for a lot of people who are going to be replacing a toilet or maybe upgrading, have our inlet there at the back.

Pretty simple install. As far as measurements with this, take a look, it's going to weigh about 30 pounds. The height going from the base to this top edge here, that's going to be about 20 inches. Front to back it's going to be 19 inches. The seat size, 15 by 14 inches. The rim width or thickness is going to be three inches, and that cut out on the inside is 12 by eight, depth of the bowl is going to be about eight inches going down to that valve, and then our hand sprayer hose measures about 45 inches long. This does have a two year warranty and is made in the USA, and that's about going to do it for our look at the Dometic RV part-timer toilet.

I hope this video has been helpful. Thanks for watching.
