Dometic RV Toilet - Part-Timer Standard Height - DOM79FR Review

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com today we're taking a look at the part-timer RV toilet. This is going to be a replacement or an upgrade for your worn out or damaged toilet in your RV. This can also be used in marine applications. This is kind of an older style of toilet that you might've seen around with the name of SeaLand. They've now been bought out by Dometic, so going to have those same features that you might be used to with their products. We'll be able to operate it by the foot pedal on the side there.

This is going to have a ceramic bowl, so it makes it a lot easier to clean than any other materials. Does add a little bit of weight to it though, so it is going to weigh about 39 pounds, so keep that in mind. The base is going to be made out of a polypropylene. There's this housing or a shroud here going over the main components for how to attach it.If we look on the inside, we're going to have a elongated or a elongated wooden seat, excuse me, and lid. So that's going to be nice in those winter months, you're not going to have to worry about freezing your cheeks off.

This is going to be much more resistant to any kind of temperature change, so it should be at a nice comfortable temperature for you. And then on the inside, again, ceramic bowl so we won't have to worry about anything clinging to the sides there.Whenever you're using the pedal, you just want to be sure that you don't press down and hold. You don't want to overfill your tank too quickly. You also don't want to waste too much water. Of course, we only have a limited supply of water in our RV and a limited supply of water typically in your boat, if you're in seawater, you want to conserve those freshwater supplies as much as possible depending on your setup. So as far as that goes, should be pretty standard.

This is going to be the standard height. There are several different styles available here at etrailer.com. Oop. Wrong graphic. There we go.

The one on the far left, that's going to be the one we're looking at today. So as you can see, it's kind of a different style than the other ones, but it is going to be that standard height that you're used to at home so you don't have to worry about it being a little too short.Of course, those shorter versions or the low profile can give you a better fit in some instances where you need a little bit more clearance, so that's something to keep in mind there. This is also available in tan as you already saw. So it has all the same features, just a different color, but this one is in white, but everything else is going to be exactly the same between those two. So if you want a little different color, you can pick that one up right here at etrailer.com as well. And then on the inside, whenever we press that pedal again, you already saw that, but that valve is going to open up. Everything's going to drop down. This is meant to be directly mounted over your holding tank, so it's just going to be a direct mount there. It comes with the mounting hardware, so we'll get our T-bolts, flange nuts and also a floor flange gasket or the floor seal, so that's going to go on the bottom, create a watertight seal between the unit and the floor and it also comes with instructions on how to get all that done. One thing that you might want to pick up whenever you are getting this guy is maybe some silicone sealant to go around that base, make sure that you don't have any leaks, anything like that.As far as measurements with this, it is going to weigh about 39 pounds. As I mentioned before, the height going from the floor to this back portion here is about 19 inches. Going from that same edge to the very front is about 20 and a half inches. The seat is going to be 14 by 15 or 15 by 14 the cutout in there is going to be 10 by eight and a half. The bowl depth going from the rim to the base in there is about eight and a half inches, and then the seat thickness or the rim thickness is going to be three inches. This does come with a two year warranty, limited warranty, and it is made in the USA, but that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Dometic part-timer. I hope I've answered all your questions. Thanks for watching. We'll see you next time.
