Review of Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring C55382

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number C5532. This is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This product is going to fit certain years and models of the Jeep Liberty. It's going to provide your four way flat trailer connector at the back of the vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is comparable with 5-pole, 6-pole, 7-pole adapters. Those adapters are sold separately.

The black box right here is going to be included taillight converter. This is going to insure that the vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. It's going to be constructed surface-mount technology which is going to offer consistent, reliable performance and simply maximizes the trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat. It's also going to ensure superior operation even in rough road conditions Here on the four way fly connector, it does come with the dust cap. That way you can protect the connection points, when the connectors not being used.

The benefit of a system like this is that it is designed to be connected quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any of your wires. All you have to do is locate the connection points behind the tail lights on your vehicle. You're going to take your connectors and simply plug them into the matching ports. They're going to match up perfectly.

This is a custom fit vehicle wiring harness. It's designed for your vehicle. The plugs are going to plug into one other and then they're going snap lock into place for a nice tight, secure fit. The side with the yellow wires are going to go to the driver side of the vehicle. The side with the green wires will run to the passenger's side of the vehicle. You're going to plug in your connectors and then you're going to need to make a ground connection.

It's going to be the white wire with the ring thermal attached to it. You're going to make that ground protection with the included self tap screw in a nice, new metal surface. Then you can go ahead and secure the converter box with a nice clean out of the way location using the double sided adhesive tape provided with the kit. Once you have everything connected, you can go head and use the included zip ties to secure any access wire. Make sure that it's secure, tape up any slack that you need to. It just cleans up the installation and it's going to protect any loose wiring or slack in the wiring. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at three amps per circuit. For the tail lights, we're looking at five amps per circuit. Its also recommended that you use a small amount of grease with all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole connector itself. That's going to help prevent corrosion from settling in those connection points. If you need some of the at grease, you can find it here on the website, it is sold separately. It also comes with your detailed instructions. These are going to walk you through the installation process step by step. That's going to do it for today's look at part number C55382.
