Troubleshooting An E1 Error Code On A Fogatti Tankless Water Heater

Updated 06/21/2024 | Published 11/04/2023

Question:

We have a Fagotti tankless water heater in our 5th wheel and it’s less then a year old. It’s throwing the E1 code most of the time now. We start the water and the panel starts flashing 8’s and then turns off. How can I trouble shoot or fix it

An E1 error code on a Fogatti Tankless Water Heater is an ignition failure, which means the unit isn't getting enough gas to properly operate. You'll need a qualified technician to check the pressure and possibly replace or clean out your propane regulator in order to get your pressure back up to 11" W.C. so that it can operate properly. If you need a new regulator we have a few options depending on your setup.

For a horizontal regulator you'll need part # 108221, and for a vertical regulator you'll need part # 108220. If you have dual tank regulator then you can use part # 37207-30395.

Sometimes our household unit will fire up and most often it tries to and fails, giving us the error code E1. What can we do make it work all the time? Thanks

@JB If the E1 error code for your house unit is the same then this is an issue with your gas pressure and you would need to have a qualified technician take a reading to see what the pressure is at. The regulator might just need to be cleaned and adjusted and you'll be good to go again.
