For your new 2012 Ford F-250 and Heartland 5th wheel trailer, I recommend going with a 16K Reese hitch which will give you plenty of room to spare as far as capacity and will provide you with years of service.
To me a standard bed is an 8 foot bed. That would mean you would need the fixed version, # RP30047. But if your bed is 6-3/4 feet long, you would need a slider. The slider that offers the most travel and most clearance for making tight turns is the round tube slider found with the 16K Reese hitch, # RP30075.
For either bed size, you can use the custom installation kit # RP56016-53. This kit allows the under bed brackets to be installed on the outside of the frame rails where they are easier to install, saving you time.
