First open the rear door and fold the rear seat forward. Locate and open the storage compartment on the drivers side of the cargo area. Next, locate the grey tow plug by opening the access panel inside of the storage compartment. Then insert the converter box into the vehicles grey tow plug.
Next, locate the fuse panel in the rear cargo area on the drivers side next to the rear seats that you folded down. Open fuse compartment using a trim panel remover. Then insert the relays and fuses into position. Locate the vehicle fuse box in the engine compartment on the drivers side. Insert fuses into position.
Locate the large grey housing under the vehicle bumper on the drivers side. Then remove the protective cap, being careful not to break the locking tabs. Ensure that the mating surfaces are free of dirt. Plug the towing harness into grey tow plug. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs and be sure that the connectors are fully inserted with the locking tabs in place. Route the T-Connector harness rearward to the back of the fascia of the bumper.
Route the wire being careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other
points that may pinch or break the wire. Secure the 4-Flat/ 7-Way tow harness to the hitch. Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness under the bumper with the cable ties provided, being careful to avoid any areas that would cut or pinch the wire. Test and verify installation once you are finished with the installation by resetting the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. You can test the installation with a test light # PTW2993 or trailer.
