Best Lock When Carrying Schwinn Clear Creek on Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack Is Frame Adapter Needed

Question:
I am interested in the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4inch and 2inch Trailer Hitches. Do I need an adapter for a womans bicycle? It is a Scwinn ClearCreek. Which lock is best for this model?

I took a look at the Schwinn Clear Creek online, and am convinced that the upper frame bar doesn't plunge down so far that the frame hook of the bike rack wouldn't be able to hold it. You should be okay without using a frame adapter.
As far as a lock goes, Swagman offers a combo hitch/cable lock part # S64031 that will secure the rack to the hitch and the bikes to the rack. No lock is completely foolproof, but this item will certainly deter theft and encourage would-be thieves to find an easier target.
