Why Does my P3 Brake Controller Stay Lit Up After I Leave My Truck
Updated 10/01/2014 | Published 09/30/2014 >
Question:
i purchased the Tekonsha P3 brake controller and i had hooked up in 10 minutes. My question is how do i power the unit off ? When it is connected and i close and lock the truck it stays illuminated and obviously it is drawing power from the battery although a very minimal draw, im sure. But, after dark its a beacon of light, saying steal me. Can it be powered off while connected to the vehicle. Thanks

The TekonshaP3 Brake Controller, part # 90195, has LED lights that will stay on after the vehicle is turned off, but should turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity. It will enter its power-saving mode which engages after the brake controller does not sense motion or activity for 15 minutes.
