Question:
Im looking at the trailer harness wiring for my 98 Grand Cherokee and see that you have two options for non-factory tow packages. Which one of the two would you recommend? I notice that they are the same except for the manufacturer. Which company produces a better product?

In regards to your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee both Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring # C55349 and T-One Wiring Harness # 118349 are very similar. They both receive great customer reviews.
I would recommend Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118349 as it is the more popular one as well. This wiring harness will connect inline to the plugs located behind the Jeeps tail lights. A separate power wire needs to be run to the positive post of the vehicles battery using the included in-line fuse holder. Also, the separate white (ground) wire will need to be attached to a good, clean ground.
I have included installation instructions for you as well.
