Looking For Replacement Front AC Unit For 1999 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Vision

Updated 07/11/2026 | Published 07/06/2026

Question:

Hello. My name is Aaron, I recently purchased a 1999 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Vision and it needs a new AC unit in the front. I was thinking about going with the 15k BTU Advent. part ADV86SR. The RV has a Coleman mach with the old style 9-pin connector installed on it currently. Can I just get the new AC unit and the 6 to 9 pin adapter and expect everything to work? Its a ducted setup. Thanks.

Hey Aaron, thanks for reaching out. You can replace your old Coleman Mach unit with an Advent unit, but you will need to replace the entire AC system, not just the rooftop unit. Reason being new AC units use a different refrigerant type (R32) than old units, and these new units are not backwards compatible with old (pre-2025) AC systems. There isn't any kind of adapter to make it work.

That said, we do offer that Advent unit as a full system. Here is what you'll need:

- Advent Air RV AC System w/ Wall Thermostat - 15,000 Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - White - R32 # ADV92SR

This comes with the rooftop unit, distribution box, start capacitor and wall thermostat. Everything you need to replace/upgrade your AC system. The distribution box can work with both ducted and ductless setups.

Do you camp in a lot of areas with warmer climates?

Ok, so how would that work with my current rv thermostat? I have one thermostat that controls both front and rear ac units as well as the front and rear propane furnaces. Is this thermostat gonna be compatible with all that? I assume this new thermostat won't be compatible with my old rear ac unit either? So if I have to replace the one AC unit, I have to replace them both just because the new thermostat isn't compatible? Even if the rear one works fine? Am I assuming incorrectly, or am I looking at a $2000+ project instead of like an $800 one?
