Question:
I have a 2018 Jayco HT fifth wheel, the remote for the furrion electric fireplace wont turn on or work the unit. I replace the batteries every year and this is the first time Ive had an issue. Fireplace has power and works with the buttons on the front just not with the remote.

Hey Randy, thanks for reaching out. It could be the remote went bad, but there are a few things we can check.
First, I know it seems obvious but make sure the batteries you used are good and in the remote the correct way.
Next, if your fireplace has a manual switch, if it's in the "on" position sometimes this can override the remote so try switching it to the "off" position and see if that makes it work.
With some fireplace models, the remote transmitter may need to be reprogrammed to your fireplace. Your owner's manual should list the steps for that if applicable.
If all that checks out, it's likely the remote just went bad. Sometimes they can short out and they need to be replaced. The Replacement Remote Control for Furrion Electric RV Fireplace # FR63JF is what you'd need in that case.
