How Does MaxxFan Roof Vent Spring Install  

I have a Maxxfan that I purchased and installed about 9 years ago. It recently broke while traveling. The lifting mechanism broke and I’ve ordered a new part. It seems straightforward to repair except for the spring that helps lift the lid. It obviously hooks under the lifting arm in the front but I can’t identify where to hook the short end on the back. Is there a diagram somewhere that can show me where it hooks. I may be missing a bolt or something.
