I'd be happy to help. With a 2,000lb pin weight and your 2,915lb payload, it sounds like you're off to a good start, but I do have a couple of questions before recommending the best fifth-wheel hitch for both safety and maneuverability.

What bed length does your Ram 2500 have, and is it equipped with the factory puck system?

Once I know that information I'll be able to find the perfect hitch for you.

the bed is 6.4 ft. and I do not have the factory puck system

@Brenda For a short bed, I'd stick with a sliding hitch. If you want something that makes maneuvering the easiest, I recommend the PullRite SuperGlide auto slider # PUL85RR. This comes with custom rails for your truck, so it's a complete kit. If you don't mind the little bit of in-and-out that comes with a manual sliding hitch, I highly recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BW56XR. It doesn't auto-slide, but it's still one of the best 5th-wheel hitches out there. I've linked some videos for both hitches so you can get a better idea of how they work.
