Why Wouldn't 2002 Chevy Avalanche Have Power to Brake Controller

Question:
I have an 02 avalanche its pre wired for a brake controller i bought one put it in the light on the controller does not light up but it clicks when u slide the override lever over and the truck brake lights light up as well i dont know what to do to get it to sent brake power to my camper any suggestions ?

Hey Mike, I am not sure what brake controller you have so it's a little harder to troubleshoot. That said your truck has some underhood connections that need to be made to provide power to the brake controller. Did you make those connections? If not, I attached a link that has more info on this.

I would have to follow what Jameson said. I Installed a prodigy 2 on a Suburban and had to make a power connection under the hood. The fuse box is on the driver side inner fender. There is a wire wound around the harness between the fuse box and firewall that has a ring terminal attached. I had to bring it to the front and install the ring under one of the power studs at the front of the fuse box. This connection supplied power to the controller harness. Good luck.
