Hello Randy, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can and should adjust the air pressure on the Reese Goose Box # RP59KR, but it’s important to note that the air bag pressure is not set based directly on tongue weight numbers. Instead, it’s adjusted to get the truck and trailer riding level and smooth, while controlling chucking and bounce.

The right way to dial it in is to start within Reese’s recommended pressure range (typically 40–80 psi, depending on load), hitch the Landmark, and then adjust pressure until the truck sits level and the ride feels controlled without being harsh. Too little air will allow excess movement and chucking, while too much air can make the ride stiff and actually transmit more force into the truck and trailer. The goal is a balanced feel, not max pressure. Might take a few tires to dial it in exactly the way you want.

Once you find the sweet spot, that pressure usually stays pretty consistent unless your pin weight changes significantly. Many owners will check or fine-tune pressure at the start of a trip, then leave it alone. Its a good idea to carry an onboard compressor and gauge so you can make adjustments on the fly if needed.

Also important to note, the # RP59KR goose box replaces the Lippert 1621, 1716, 0719, Rhino, and Fabex PB 600 series pin boxes

Do you know specifically what pin box is on your camper now? Do you already have a compressor you plan to use?

Hey Randy, how did things go when you adjusted the air pressure on your Reese Goose Box for the Landmark and Chevy setup? Did you find a pressure range that kept the ride level and smooth? Your update could make it easier for others dialing in their own setups.
