Recommended Aftermarket Puck System for a 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500

Updated 02/10/2026 | Published 01/17/2026

Question:

Looking to install the RP57KR under-bed rail kit in my 2021 Chevy 3500. First, why isnt a kit available that has GM factory spacing for the hitch, instead of only Ford spacing? Also, the Chevy kit doesnt appear to have covers that can be popped over the opening in the bed when the 5th wheel hitch is not installed. Do you offer hole covers? Thanks.

Hey Brent. Reese makes the OEM puck systems for Ford which is why all of their Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kits like item # RP57KR only have the Ford puck system pattern. These are pretty cool systems and they give owner's like you a chance to install a puck system in their trucks if they missed out on getting one with the factory option. This kit is confirmed to fit your 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 with either the short or long bed.

Curt makes the puck systems for GM trucks and they don't offer them for aftermarket sale. The item # RP57KR is quite literally the only aftermarket option.

To cover the four pucks and the gooseneck hole you'll need the Rubber Hole Cover item # RP30136 and two of the Replacement Puck Plug Covers (Qty 2) item # 58199.

If you want to mimic the factory puck system completely, you can add the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector and Cover Plate item # C53CR to the bed of your truck. This puts a 7-way connector in the bed and lets you keep the one on your bumper.

Do you already have a 5th wheel hitch? I would be more than happy to make a recommendation. I would just need to know if you're wanting a slider or fixed hitch.

Hey Brent, how did things go with the RP57KR rail kit on your Chevy 3500? Did the hole covers and wiring harness give you the factory-style setup you were after? Your feedback could help others looking to add a puck system to their trucks.
