How to Wire Taillights on 2007 Chevy 5500 Cab/Chassis Flatbed As Spearately Wired Taillight System

Updated 01/18/2010 | Published 01/13/2010

Question:

I just bought a 2007 5500 chevy flatbed & built a new flat bed. I bought LED lights for back With seperate Back-up, Brake, And Amber Turn. My wiring harness has the turn and brake on same wire. Is there any way to make this work without my turn and brake both coming on?

To make this operate, you will need the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter, part # 118158. The converter will split the directional and brake light signals onto separate circuits. The standard lighting circuits from the vehicle enter the input side of the converter, green wire for right directional/brake, yellow wire for left directional/brake, brown wire for running lights, white wire to ground. On the output side, the wires serve the same function, but the red wire will carry the separated brake light signal.
