Good question, Nick. This Trailer Mate hitch # TMT34FR, along with all other options for the CR-V, is not rated for use with weight distribution systems. The frame and tongue capacities of the CR-V are simply too light-duty for that setup. If you’re towing a small trailer, stick with a regular ball mount and make sure you’re within Honda’s 1,500 lb tow rating for non hybrid models (double check your specific owner's manual).
What trailer are you planning to pull? I can help suggest the right ball mount rise/drop for it.
For fellow CR-V owners, if you’re towing, how did you set up your trailer to keep it level?
